Closest and least expensive grocery store

We had planned on hitting the Albertson's on Orange Blossom Trail. However, we are flying into Tampa and will go to the resort first (OKW). After we unpack we will go grocery shopping. Where is the closest grocery store that does not cost an arm and a leg? I have an area map so as long as I have a store name and street I think I will be fine.

The Publix in Kissimmee is reasonable.

There is a winn dixie about 2 miles from OKW. Get a discount card to save more. It is on apopka-vineland--I think--the road that runs right in front of the crossroads shopping center.

We always use the Winn-Dixie when staying at OKW. From OKW, make a right out of the resort, go past SSR, at the end of the road make a right, then left on Hotel Resorts Blvd (across from the bus depot at Downtown Disney), then left onto 535, it's about a mile down the road on the right, just past ABC liquor. This store is only about 2 years old, it's clean and never been crowded. We got the shopper card too, it saves some money. Whatever you do, don't go to Goodings in Crossroads, very expensive.

Come up I-4 and get off onto Route 27 North. Take that north to Route 192. There is a nice Publix about two miles after you get onto 192--it will be on your left. Disney is a few miles further down 192.

I like the Publix off international drive in the Preminm Oulet Mall . About 10 minutes from OKW

I decided I needed exact locations so I used your grocery store suggestions and did store locators for each and then mapquested from OKW resort.

This is what I came up with

2 different publix's 13 minutes away
2915 Vineland Rd.
OR
2925 International drive

both open 7 days a week 7am-11pm



Winn-Dixie
11957 Apopka Vineland Rd
only 10 minute away

BUT
M-Sat 9am-7pm
Sunday closed (not as convenient hours)


Kash-n-Karry
3183 W Vine St
19 minutes away

OPEN 24 hours 7 days a week (great to know)

I would not recommend Kash-N-Karry, quite honestly. You'd be better off going to the 24 hour Super Wal-Mart than going there.

As far as the Winn-Dixie, you may want to double check the store hours, those don't seem right. Most WD stores are open until 10 or midnight during the week. The hours you noted seem like the pharmacy hours and not the store hours.

Also, you can check the weekly sale circulars online for both WD and Publix. It might help you decide which store suits you better. In general, Publix has better every day prices but Winn-Dixie often has better sale prices when you uses their Reward card.

I have the store phone numbers and I will call to double check their hours. I got the hours from their web sights. I am thinking Publix or Winn-Dixie just depends on the store hours. We are driving in from Tampa and won't be in until later. My Sister's family arrive about 3 hours before we do. They are using a towncar. She and I will go shopping later in the evening.
