Closed yesterday-When will DVC see us?

We just found out that we closed on our DVC resale yesterday!!!
Now, the real question is, how soon can we book through DVC?
Is there anything we can give them, like SS# or something, that would allow us to book now instead of waiting until 4/30, which is when our closing agent said we would be in the system?

I would call at the end of next week to see if you're in the system. From the day we closed, we were in the system 7 days later and made a reservation shortly thereafter. I'd call every couple of days after that.

Also, when you call, ask them to help you log on to dvcmember.com. It took about 20 seconds, and it saved me having to wait on paperwork to come to have access to my information (which includes your member ID, which you'll need every time you call). They can look you up with other information, but it's just much easier for MS if you have that information.

MS can't book anything for you until your contract is set up in the system. At this point DVC has no idea that you purchased a contract. It takes 7-10 days for the paperwork to be sent from the closing company to DVC and for DVC to process it and transfer the ownership of the contract from the seller to you, the buyer. Then they transfer the appropriate number of points into your account. Only then is everything in place for MS to be able to make a reservation for you. Otherwise, it's like going into a bank and trying to make a withdrawal when you don't yet have an account there.

So congratulations on your purchase and try to be patient. The wait between closing and getting into the system is frustrating but it's just part of the resale process.

We bought resale in July. We were told when we closed that we should be in the system in 10-14 days. We closed on 7/5 and got an email from our guide with our pin number on 7/7. The following week our points were manually added to our account and we booked our first trip on 7/11.
