(CLOSED) The Smoking DSA's @ Resorts Info Thread

My dh and I just returned from a week at POP. There were several nice, quiet smoking areas around the lake and one area by each pool. The best was near the Petals bar at the Hippy Dippy pool. Also there is one as you come out the food court in the back near the pool before you go down the steps to the pool. We had no problem finding a place to smoke here or in the parks. DSA's were here and there. Just use your map.:hippie:
THANK YOU for that info about POP! :thumbsup2 And, I agree about the parks and using maps - trouble is, some DSAs have moved/are gone, etc. :confused3 I will still remain courteous and CIVIL, and DISNEY-law-abiding when smoking tho! I swear! (Why would I be subscribed to this thread if I wouldn't?) ;)

I think ALL ROOMS are smoke-free![/QUO

the reason I asked is because they are not Disney owned resorts. after disney went to totally smoke free rooms, we stayed in a smoking room at the Dolphin. (the swan had been smoke free for quite some time)

but then again, we are white sox fans!!!:rotfl:

I am a Cigar smoker and proud of it. Now that that is out of the way, i would like to know if any other cigar lovers will be in the land from 7/27 to 8/5 and would like to meet somewhere on property for a good smoke and a drink......
name the place and time i will be there....

There's a cigar store in Disney's West Side. I'm not sure if you're actually allowed to smoke IN it, but you'll meet other cigar aficianadoes there ;)

But then Downtown Disney is one of the nicer parts of Disney to be if you're a smoker - hope that hasn't changed in the last year. ;)

BTW, just love your signature :rotfl2: And I know you're not kidding either. :)

OK, I wasn't so Disney-law-abiding at POP. :guilty: We had a 1st floor end-corner room, and I walked outside, turned the corner and there was nothing, no other rooms, doors, etc., so I smoked around the corner from my room. Because we had the end/corner room, there was also no foot traffic, so no one walked near me or past me (barely ever anyone in 12 days)!

I was courteous and civil whenever a person or two did pass me, but they were smoking too! :rolleyes1 I also saw balcony smokers at POP. :confused3 I think courtesy is the most important issue here.

I saw a woman walking through a park with a lit cigarette in her hand! What made HER special?! :rolleyes1

Is there still a smoking area near the pool/bar at wilderness lodge? Thanks

There was last time we were there (wow - that's almost 2 years ago though - time flies) - right at the end of the bar area near the beach was the smoking area.

Enjoyed that smoking area at WL many times last Sept.! Really nice out of the way spot and only a short walk back to the Villas. Met some really nice people there too :goodvibes! :tink:

Anyone have any favorite DSAs at POFQ? This is the first time we will be staying there. I have a room request for Building 5, if it is possible, although I am not going to make a scene if it isn't.

POFQ is one of those easy resorts to smoke at. My favorite one was the one by the pool, right outside of Building 5. :goodvibes

So if I understand all I have read, there is NO smoking allowed on any balcony:confused3. Dsil is a smoker and I'm trying to figure out what kind of room to get for her. Thanks:hippie:

One "as close as possible to a Designated Smoking Area".

Smoking on a balcony/patio is equal to smoking in the room, i.e. not allowed.

I was thinking about requesting Cabanas 8A. We have a smoker in the group. I do not see a smoking area around 8A on the resort map. Does anyone know if there is one around that building? Thanks for any help :)

That is correct.

This is good to know. What would happen to the person in a WDW room balcony smoking? I know some out there like to "push the limit" and still sneak a late night smoke?

Anyone have resort maps with all current smoking areas? Dsil will hate to have to smoke some where other then the balcony:headache:. Oh well, thank you everyone so far soo much information:hippie:
