There is not a map for Swan and Dolphin. Has anyone stayed there recently? Can you still book a smoking room at the Dolphin? Where are the DSAs?

The Swan has been 100% smoke free now for some time... with outdoor DSA areas. You'd have to contact them to find out exactly where they are located.

According to their website, the Dolphin is still booking smoking rooms.

I just contacted the Dolphin - they do still have designated smoking rooms - - - wow - they will be busy!!

So, now that all the rooms at WDW are "non smoking", do the old smoking rooms still smell of smoke? I am going to be staying at POR in Sep., and like the location of bldg. 18, but I HATE staying in smoking rooms! So, would it be safe to request bldg. 18, or should I request another bleg., one that has never been a smoking bldg.? TIA!!!:cutie:

I wouldn't request a previous smoking building for at least a year if the smoke smell would bother me. I just don't think they will get "de-smoked" all that fast

From what I've heard -- all former 'smoking rooms'....will have this on their doors....

I don't know how you can make a former smoking room a non smoking room. The horrendous odor would be imbedded in everything. They would have to remove and destroy the old bedding, mattresses, curtains, etc, etc.
I would absolutley request to NOT be put in a former smoking room. And believe me, DW would know it the minute we walked in the room.:scared:

And that is the cause that created the "room recovery fee" is it not?

Thanks for that information. Do you happen to know which DTD hotels still have smoking rooms?

None of them. ALL Disney resorts are smoke-free except for designated areas and have been since the beginning of the month.

Actually, the Downtown Disney properties are not owned by Disney and would be subject to each individual chain's or owner's smoking rules. Chances are, they all still have smoking and non-smoking rooms, but Guests would need to check with each individual property.

Really? I had thought that other than the Swan, Dolphin, and Shades of Green every resort on property was Disney owned.

The hotels on Hotel Plaza Boulevard, just outside Downtown Disney are not owned by Disney, but that road is still technically on Disney Property.

The Downtown Disney hotels are not Disney owned and are not considered on property resorts. Not sure what the specifics are of each deal for each hotel but they do not get most of the perks of a Disney resort - such as EMH; DME; charging in the parks, etc...

I see which resorts you all are talking about now. I never realized they were there until I looked at a map of WDW. Thanks.

First timers - - Be sure and stop at Guest Services in the Park and get your cousin the "first time at Disney" badge - - she/he will be so excited and all o the CM's will give them a little extra attention!! Lots of fun and have a great trip!!
