Many times I've seen them filled at the food court at Dixie Landing and taken into the River Roost Lounge to see the Bob Jackson show.

It hasn't been callled Dixie Landings in years. ;) It's Port Orleans Riverside.

really? I would think bringing in your own drink to a restaurant wouldn't be allowed. we sure don't allow it where I work! after all the rest. sells soft drinks. that's akin to asking for water and bring flavor packets or hot water and bringing your own tea bag.
the only think we let slide is juice packs/sippy cups etc. for litttle kids.

I tried reading and searching for this with no luck. I have rapid refill mugs from Feb. We always buy them but we now have a collection. If I bring my mugs back can they just re activate the RFID chip if I purchase length of stay again? Just trying to avoid another set taking up space in my cabinets! Lol

Yes, reports are you can pay for a reactivation of old mugs.

How many days is "length of stay"? Is it based on your actual room reservation or just a system that puts so many days (i.e.: 10 days) on the RFID?

We have 4 nights AKL, 4 nights DCL and then 3 nights AKL. If we buy length of stay will we be able to use them for both our first and second stay at AKL?

Also, do you buy the cup and then add the length of stay or is it a combined price?

14, and you pay for the mug and days all at once. Just came home today, and I miss it already. :lovestruc

it does not matter at which resort(or resorts) you are staying. as long as they are Disney resorts, it is 14 days.

So, I read the rules on page one, but clearly some things have changed as the mugs are refillable at any resort with the QuickFill system. I keep seeing many many families in the parks carrying around their mugs. I never understood it until I was at a quick service location in Epcot where they had self-service soda machines and I saw entire groups of people filling up their resort mugs. When I went outside almost every table of diners had their resort mugs filled with their lunchtime drink. Is this allowed? If it was just one or two people, I would think that maybe those people were just breaking the rules, but with so many people doing it, I was wondering if maybe the rules had changed or if Disney is just completely ignoring the policy. Anyone know?

That is not allowed. They were breaking the rules and the CM's just didn't care.

No, it's breaking the rules. Maybe that's why there are very few CS places at the parks with self-serve beverage machines. When people are at their resorts, the food court is sometimes the last place they visit before getting on the park bus, so they have their mugs with them at the parks. Perhaps all the people you saw had filled up at the park CS, but maybe they had purchased their park CS drink and used their mugs instead of their cups for the free refill to-go (refills are allowed at self-serve), or maybe some had water in their mugs. There's no way to tell. I'd like to think there aren't a large number of drink thieves out there, so I don't assume the worst.

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the new refillable mug are?

I ordered an official WDW 2014 backpack from Ebay where the mug should fit in. Why an official backpack you might think? Because a) I wanted a not too big backpack and b) I want to go in style :)

The only thing I want to carry in the backpack is a jacket, raincoat, water bottle and the mug. I need to take the mug with me because I'm using it at breakfast and I want to take the bus to the parks from there instead of first returning to the room to bring back the mug. It would also be nice to fill the mug at the food court after returning from the parks so I can have a drink in the room before going to sleep.

The mug looks fairly bulky on the pictures. That's why I'm a bit worried that it might take up a lot of space. So it would be great if anybody can tell what the dimensions are.

Okay, we're doing a split-stay, will the cup know we're staying 6 days instead of just the first 3 days?

When you ask for the "length of stay" price option, they automatically set it for 14 days.

I purchased a length of stay mug last week, Oct 19, which is good until Nov 2.

I suppose I am just surprised that I have not seen or read about any mug resale, or "gift" exchanges for the remaining days on most of our mugs. (similar to the Christmas tree exchange program)

With tax, my length of stay mug cost about $20 and I only used it for a 6 day stay.

Housekeepers told me that they have actually had mugs left in the rooms. Gifting these "throwaway mugs" by leaving them setting out in public for the taking (if found before staff collects them) would be a nice little gift. (an attached note "gifting" it might be nice)

Obviously, these suggestions are only for persons that do not want or need another Disney mug at home. I will be looking if anyone wants to leave a mug setting on the porch at BWV on Nov 30. :rotfl:

I am sorry I havent read the whole thread. Would we be able to take our mugs into the park (i know we cant refill them in the park)? Would we be able to poor our left over drinks from our meals into them to carry around or have water in them?
