Lori

Perfect for spring, you are on the ball!

Wow!! That is just adorable. Where in the world did you find all of the Disney Clip art?? I am just in awe.

Google image search, Lots and Lots of searching. I would like to make more for other Big Gives. Will be much faster with some pages already designed!

There are pages on the creative designs board that others have made. I'm going to try to snag some of them to make this faster

Thank you all for the prayers! The weather has finally passed over me. The kids are in bed!:cool1: Now I can start planning my day tomorrow. I'm going to be checking out another school for DD4 for next yr. We had an unfortunate thing happen in her class. I"m not happy on how the situation was handled. So now it has me looking around! BUMMED, because I thought I had it all figured out!

We are geting the storms now Tornado warnings east of us and lots of hail. Thank goodness it was pea sized here.

glad it is over for you guys in OKlahoma, I tried calling my sister (she lives in Oklahoma city )but could not get thru, but I guess everything is OK...

I think you asked about the stroller bag

it is really simple and fast to make( i really do not have step by step tutorial pictures but hope the pictures I have can give you an idea...

take a piece of fabric ( for Noah I used 52" by 36" including seam allowence)
2008_02070024.jpg

fold it in half -- measure the blanket againts your stroller and mark the stroller strap placement in the blanket --I use the biggest size buttonhole for my machine for the straps (2") but you can also do the buttonholes by hand

2008_02080011.jpg

sew in the side zipper (used zipper by the yard for that length)
2008_02080009.jpg

after you place zipper you sew the bottom seam...

finish the top with prefold quilt bind, add straps for each side and voila...a stoller bag... I've made them with baby quilts , baby blankets, flannels and cottons and you customize it to your baby size...

hope this helps

I am finally home. I left this morning to take DH to work and I just got home. Jenna is sick. She has strep throat and will be home with me all day today and tomorrow. We have her homework, her medicine, the title to my car, lunch has been eaten, and DH is back at work til 5. I don't want to see my car again.

Oh, poor Jenna, I hope she feels better real soon!

Kim tat turned out so cute!!!

Ok well. I think I might have to make a Dr. appt for Georgia soon. She keeps getting headaches almost daily. She is home from school today because she had one last night that lasted until she fell asleep at like 1am! So not only was I up trying to help her, I was super tired from not sleeping the night before so that was like 40 hours up straight! Gave her tylenol she got her Disney soft ice pack (the only one she will use) and cried herself to sleep in my arms... She is feeling better right now. I told her this morning that if she stayed home she couldn't play her DS and had to stay in bed all day to rest her body. And she said ok and went back to sleep. So I know she wasn't up to par or she would have never agreeed to her no DS.

I hate that I can't really do anything for her headaches So she is laying down right now, just had lunch and is designing skirts for me to make her. haha

Oh, poor Georgia! Poor Kelli!

Ok I Just loaded pictures from the other night and I just had to share this picture with you all. Georgia loves her new DS she got for her birthday and I guess little Sky Boy does too. hehe

How sweet!
Thank you.
I was thinking of making my t-shirt pink with the pink Mickey flowers and having DH wear a lime green shirt to coordinate. He does not want the Mickey flowers, not sure why though.:confused3

Now WHY wouldn't he want the flowers??? :confused3

it is practically spring here in az!! thanks again

Oh, just rub it in will yah! We got warm here today, but they say it might snow again tomorrow. It was a nice break while it lasted!

last year easter snuck up on me... had to sneak up on it this year!

Lori

The image of you trying to sneak up on easter just has me giggling!

Keep your fingers crossed for me, DH called me today at work and said that there is convention in Orlando Sept 16-18 that his boss wants him to go to. So of course DD and I would tag along, and make a week long trip out of it. ;) Just have to save, save, save so we can go. Hubby wants to stay at the hotel of the convention (Shingle Creek?) looks nice on the website but if I go to disney, I want to stay in one of the onsite hotels. Oh well, we'll see if the convention goes through, but I sure would be happy to have a vacation ticker !!! Then I would have something to do with all my new fabric !!!

OOH, I hope you get to go!

Oooo! Good Luck! What fun that would be :)

Ok, I really need to not surf the net... I have been looking at purse patterns online and I came across this tote.......
castlekeeper400.gif

I think I love it :lovestruc
This is the description...
Roomy and totally cute tote bag pattern with 4 outside wall pockets and 2 roofed tower side pockets. This tote bag is big enough for a binder or some books, water bottle, umbrella, etc. or as a "royal" diaper bag. Finished size is 13" x 14".

I may have to buy the pattern, but after a buying patterns from YCMT I thought I had sworn off paper patterns ;)

That is a cute bag!!

So busy today trying to get caught up from being out of town and then I got called in to work so I am behind and will catch up reading and looking tomorrow but...

I think I am going to attempt the studio tantrum laguna pattern I bought months ago but I am scared. The directions make absolutely no sense to me. Has anyone here tried it and do you have any pointers? Thanks!

Becca

A lot of people have asked me what they can do for Becca and her family. I have started a new thread for Becca on the Big Give board:
http://s3.excoboard.com/exco/thread.php?forumid=67297&threadid=573866&page=1#3879032

If you have any ideas or have any questions, you can post there and maybe we can brainstorm together. Feel free to PM with any questions too.

Thanks everyone for all the love you've shown for this family!

I found a pattern for a cute dress made from fat quarters but I too have sworn off paper patterns... so oh well! The bag is super cute though!

Lurker popping in here with two questions!:confused3 :confused3

#1
What would you do?

I saw a REALLY cute custom on etsy and would like to CASE it for my DD. It is very expensive and buying it would not be an option. It would not be for sale or for anyone outside my family. Do you think this would be OK? Should I contact the seller and ask permission?

#2

I noticed Carla updated her patterns on YCMT. Do you have to purchase the pattern again to get the updates?

Thanks for your imput everyone and I really love all the new stuff that's been posted lately. Especially the earth day Mickey head. So cute!:hippie: :hippie:

:cheer2:Welcome:cheer2: Carla's updated patterns are updated in your library. You will just need to redownload them and replace the one's that you have already downloaded.

Thank you!

Where abouts in OKC? The north side got hit pretty good, not as bad as the one down south this evening. They had 3 deaths! It's not even tornado season for us!:scared1:

If she was by Tinker, then she was fine. The phones don't work real great when there is bad weather. To many people trying to use them. It's been like that for every tornado. This one actually didn't take the normal path! My neighborhood! :rotfl:

Uggg I just had a long quote going and then this lame computer of mine crashed. Sorry.....love all the new items!!! You guys really do rock. I can't believe you are already working on Easter stuff Lori. I am just finishing up my DD's Valentine outfit!!

Hope all of you in bad weather areas stay SAFE!!!! Prayers to all those who need it!!!

Okay, you may remember the discussion: little one needs to do a report on a composer...she chose Clara Schumann. She looked like this:
images-2.jpg

My inspiration pattern was this:
3727.jpg

And the finished product is this:
P2110155.jpg

skirt, top, and "undersleeves"
P2110162.jpg

complete with a bustle on the back:
P2110159.jpg

It looks really big for her, but she will be wearing TWO full-length pettis underneath to give it the fullness it needs.

I had to decide if I wanted to spend $30.00 on fabric or $9.99 on twin size sheets at WalMart. I chose $9.99. Yes, this is made out of sheets. Also, the front of the blouse is velcro all the way down and the buttons are hot glued on. I really didn't want to make 14 buttonholes.

PoohnpigletCA hasn't seen it yet. I can't wait to have pictures of her dd in it!

For now, thank God, it's done!:woohoo:

Great job!
Looks perfect!

Attempting button-holes can be DANGEROUS to ones health and well-being!!! I have created my very first THREE-PIECE (yes, that is 3) outfit. I was so proud of myself. It is a Vanetine's Day outfit for my sweet daughter. It consists of pants, peasant shirt and solid jumper top. All created from the absolutely wonderful patterns of CarlaC. (Thanks Carla)!!!

Anyway....getting to the dangerous part. Everything was stitched, sewn and looking good with the exception of the dreaded BUTTON-HOLES!!! That is the ONLY part I have left! Now I am not completely crazy so I knew to practice on some scrap fabric. After reading my machine's manual and thinking I knew what I was doing, I attempted to make a button-hole. Initially it seemed to be working but then of course everything stopped and got stuck. It was at this point everything went WRONG!!! Oh my goodness, I TOUCHED the needle and BURNED the heck out of my fingertip!!! Yes BURNED it.....BAD!!! Is it just me or my machine or has this happened to anyone else? I had NOOO idea the tip of the needle got so flipping HOT!!!!!

Now my finger still hurts and I have yet to learn how to make a stinkin' hole for a button. That is ALL I have to do before I complete my daughter's Valentine's Day outfit. Her school party is Thursday so I have one day left!!!! Wish me luck....or maybe I should just resort to velcro tape!!??? Perhaps use a knife and just make my own hole for those darn buttons??? Who knows....LOL
