Ok here is Jenna's Valentine's Day outfit. Well one of them atleast. She picked some other fabric and I told her that I would make her another outfit with it. We have decided that hearts can be worn anytime of the year.

I tried to get one of her twirling, but the wind is blowing too hard. She loves her outfit. She won't take it off and can't wait until we go get DH from work so she can show it off. I think when I make her another one I will make the size 8. This one is a little tight on her.

Crystal, she is just too cute! and the clothes are wonderful. Hearts can be worn all year long. Sorry about the wind. Do you want to exchange for my endless snow forcast? I can't wait to see more.

Here is the decepticon shirt as promised to Hunter. I didn't use a satin stitch this time, just straight on white felt. The other is black flannel in satin stitch.

Now, I am putting all sewing away for the rest of the day and plan to just rest. I did finish my sundress and will get pictures up later. Next is the bowling shirts.

Here is what I have been doing the past couple of days. I made another t-shirt dress. This one was only a xlg and not really long enough to make a real dress, I guess I could have added a ruffle. I lettuce edged the sleeves this time for a different look.

IMG_1079.jpg

Why is it so fuzzy? I'm sure it's not because of my superior photography skillz! :lmao:

I really wanted Shannon's gymbucks, but we just went there and I am trying to restrain myself. Megan fell in love with this t-shirt so I cut up some of her jeans to make a whole outfit. She won't try it on cause she's mean today.

IMG_1084.jpg

And this is yesterday morning. She was excited to find frost on the ground, "just like Michigan!" I can't believe it got this cold way down here!

LOVE the jeans with the shirt! I found myself looking at the new gymbo line(which is very cute but not the best colors for AbbyGrace's skin tone), and thinking, "I can make that in the color that I want!" SO, gymbucks had to go.

What, I think your photography skilz are right there with your sewing, you have mad skilz! Sorry about the cold. I saw them spraying the orange trees on the news. I remember when it use to get so cold there. I love the pirate dress, It is my favorite but everything is so dang cute. Where is the little dog? She didn't sneak in the picture, is she inside staying warm? Great clothes.

Why is it that my list of things I want to makes grows faster than my free time?

So, DD2 is now, officially going to have a Cinderella themed b-day party. And the party is going to be at an indoor, inflatable place....do you know what I am talking about... tons of huge inflatable climber, slide, bouncy things.... So an actual Cinderella style dress is not practical. I was thinking of taking the easy route with a Cindy hotfix motif and some capri pants? But I was also thinking I could do a bit more than that? Any ideas? I have til July ;) yup we plan early in our house. Birthdays are whole family events, and my DS5 likes to pick his theme within a week of the previous years party.....Silly boy.

Also, my nieces are going to go to DL in August. My Sis-in-law used to work at DL back in her college days and is in sad need of Disney-therapy. So they are planning a trip to LA to see family and some time at the parks. I was thinking of doing some t-shirts for the girls... matching or matching themed.
They are going to be 7, 5, and 2 at the time of the trip. Princesses seem like the obvious choice. But maybe one set of Mouse themed shirts and one set of Princess themed? All three girls have birthdays in May so, I can give them to them as a part of a b-day present.

I haven't gotten any sewing done, yet this week. I got 2 chef's hats cut out, but thats it. Hubby was on call for 72 hours and we saw very little of him. And the kids have been struggling with it. Here's to the weekend :cool1:
I hope everyone has a great one!

So stinkin' cute! Jenna and Megan can be twins! I was definitely counting on the fact that hearts can be worn year round. That's funny that it's a little tight. I am always making things a little too big and Megan is constantly hitching them up. It's hard to get it exactly right, isn't it?
I hate it when I can't get the sizing right. Usually a 7 in Carla's patterns is just right with a little moving room. I think I may have made the seam allowance too big.

Adorable! Did you make the elongated peasant top?
I did use the new update. I have to say that I do like the updated pattern. So much easier than doing it myself, plus it is tapered on the sides a little.

I love those sweatshirts that you made. I will have to add those to my list for shirts for DH for our trip.

I keep trying to talk DH into letting me use one of his shirts to make Jenna a dress and he won't let me. :sad2: I might do it anyways. You think I could get away with it? :rotfl2: I love the Gymbo outfit that you made. The nearest Gymboree to us is in Lafayette and we haven't been there in awhile. We should make a trip to Lafayette, they have a Joann's.

Carla, thanks so much! you have always been extremely generous! I just wish you 'd make a step by step Aurora or Cinderella dress.

Carla!!! This a fantastic idea!!! :):) I think a Princess pattern would sell like hotcakes. I know I would love to have it. DD2 loves her Calico Cinderella dress so much. She wears it all the time. I love it because it is not the full poofy gown.

Okay here are a few different pics. We had the best time ever. We are so looking forward to June. We can't wait. The girls were in awe the entire trip.

Some of you remember me sewing for Makayla. Well, I had bilateral knee replacement surgery back in Nov and not doing too much prior to or afterwards....but I had some good news today. DD sent the photo below of Makayla taken in WDW (along with some others in leotard with measurements) to Curtain Call Dance Catalog. They were doing a model search...she sent the photos in last week and they called her today and selected Makayla as one of the models...YEA...how exciting for a just turned 4 year old!!! I am following your thread and love all of your creations. Just wanted to say hi and pass along the good news. Hi, Teresa!

My Lydia is home from school with a temperature today. She was acting fine, just a bit moodier than usual, but now she is laying down and taking a nap. Which is NOT something Lydia ever does! So, I'm guessing she is not feeling as well as she was pretending to! When will this awful winter be over????
(((Lydia))) I hope she's feeling better soon.
I love both of those skirts! But, I say go with the ruffles while you still can! You could put a black ruffle on it. I love the look of pink and black together.

I wouldn't use dots on the jumper bodice if you used the polka dot shirt. I really like that shirt! And, Lydia saw that jumper the other day, and has requested it!
Thanks Teresa. I love the ruffles and thankfully Madilynn does still too. It's just a pain to ruffle all that fabric. That's why the other pattern caught my eye. Twirl factor without ruffling :thumbsup2

I have the fabric in the wash so I've got to make a decision soon

Hey, everyone should check out the YCMT blog! They have a chance at being recognized as One of America’s Top Mom-Owned Businesses!
Here's the link to read about it: http://ycmt.wordpress.com/2009/01/22/we-need-your-help/
How cool! I just voted :)

Here is what I have been doing the past couple of days.

They are all really cute. I think Madilynn needs something similar to these.

I wonder if Steve's going to notice the increase in our weekly Wally bill??

I guess i'm going to try and put a patch behind- but will that keep the fabric from fraying???? They are about 2" apart Id guess- 3 times!!![/COLOR]

Fray Check!!

Did y'all see this fabric? It's SO pretty! My girls are a bit too old for it though.:sad2:

I made a dress a couple of years ago in this print, but the fabric was sheer. I'm not a Pooh fan, but I will say it's cute!

I finished one more dress tonight. I have been slowing working on this one for three days. I have one more to make though. These are not exactly my favorite dresses to make but the outcome is totally worth it. :)

**** I resized the pictures. I have no idea why the are ginormus!!! Sorry!!!****

This is great! :cheer2: I love Steamboat Willie!

I'm a little behind, so you've probably already made this, but the notches are the front and face up. I found this out the hard way when I was making a dozen for my DD's birthday party. Luckily I made a test one first or I'd have ended up with 12 names on the INSIDE of the hat! (and upside down too!) So... notches UP and that is the front.

Kirsta had a Ratatouille party at kids cooking class place. (the name escapes me) and I made the kids aprons with embroidery on it. She still uses hers. I love these chef hats, I would have done those also. They look great.

I have been reading these boards for over a year. We made our first trip to Disney last June. I made the girls several outfits from ideas that I saw on here. I will try to post some of the pics. We are planning another trip for June of this year....so I need to get sewing again. Thanks Missy

I hope this works and that they are not huge photos. Thanks for looking.

Oh Darn. I guess I missed the pictures.

Awww thanks for being so sweet, ladies! And thanks for the great comments on the blog...I LOVE comments! :cool1:

No worries, Crystal! I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to my patterns, so I definitely want to know if something is off! I drive my DH crazy - I hyperfocus on the patterns while the household decomposes around me :scared: ! :rotfl2:

My mother taught me there were better things in life then housekeeping. I think it's a wonderful way to live. :lmao:

One of our Hancock stores in New Orleans shut down I think in 07. We lost our Wal mart fabric when they first started cutting them, so I guess it will be :wizard: for me. :sad2:

It took our Hancocks a year to get fully stocked after it opened. Then they closed it a year after that. It was thier policy not to advertise, except thier mailers. That worked well, don't you think?

I used a skort for Kirsta. And a tshirt, that I changed to look similar to the top of Cinderellas. I wish I had added the poofs at the hips to the skirt instead of the shirt. But it made a nice summer princess dress.

I am soo glad I asked you all! Such great ideas! I think a skort would be really cute. And I like the peasant top style top Lily has... oh, to many great ideas.
Thanks
