Yikes :scared: ! That sounds like a fun day for you! I swear husbands and kids could drive you crazy! I have a married straight friend who swears it would be easier to be a lesbian b/c at least another woman would "get it" and be more helpful than a husband! And somedays I agree! Okay, I hope that wasn't a controversial statement and please know that it wasn't intended to be insulting or argumentative.....just a funny comment that I'm repeating! Please no flames!
sometimes I could agree with your friend.:rotfl2:

Oh snap - this thread is amazing! I typically linger in the tee shirt iron on section and now have been on this thread for over an hour! BEAUTIFUL! :cheer2: I am not a great sewer but was wondering how you make the amazing appliques? I read the first thread and went to the appliques bookmark but was not sure how to make them from there? I see lots of clip art and coloring pages under that section so I assume that has something to do with it. I would love to know how to do them. My DD is 7 and is almost out of the "home made clothes" stage :sad1: maybe I can swing them in for this trip in Sept! Many thanks! Blessings to each of you on your amazing talent! :thumbsup2

Absolutely wonderful. You seem to have such a knack for putting fabrics together.

Beautiful embroidery!

I love it! The Lady and the Tramp has a special place in my heart because my Grandmother was an Animator for that movie:) She drew Trusty's tail. lol.
I think it is cute:)
How cool! That's my favorite part of the movie! Ok, j/k, but that is really cool.

So pretty and comfy looking! That fabric is just so sweet.

Last 24hrs in a nutshell. Last night as Im sewing up the feliz overdress (can i just tell you, this is an easy pattern, I just cant sit for long, so take me forever) anyway I realize one of my side overdress pieces has little snips in it. Megan took my snippers and clipped it while it was still laying folded in half and cut 3 little slices. I guess i'm going to try and put a patch behind- but will that keep the fabric from fraying???? They are about 2" apart Id guess- 3 times!!!

This morning- Hooray! i get to go to my class at church- im taking a class on a book called "Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes...in you and your kids"
I am so happy to be going! I get Megan all dressed, pig tails and Cindy bows and all. Then i focus on myself, put the dogs in my bedroom, put my jacket on and realize Megan has closed the door at the top of our stairs- which has a lock, but no key and she locked it. I have no access to the garage, and DH has a lovely habit of ALWAYS locking the back door. I pray for the best and go out the front door and limp my way thru the snow, down our hill to the back. Yup, it's locked. But windows right beside it are not. It's my only option. Pregnant or not, symphysis or not- it's my only option. Other than being trapped in my house all day- which is NOT an option. I flip over a rubbermaid type container thats out there and try to use that- but its so cold it just shatters under me. I go for a office trash can and flip that over- it's filled with ice. That doesnt shatter. Im able to launch half my body thru the window- my hands can reach the couch, but its too far for me to pull my body onto. So I have to do the inevitable, I have to pull one leg in at a time. With a heavy and ho I manage to get my fat butt and belly thru the window (thank the Lord there were no cameras around!). I go up the stairs and open the door and Megan in her 2yr old voice says "I DID IT!!" i look at her and dryly reply- "No, I did it"
We leave. All goes well. A lot of walking, but still a good time.
I get home- Megan had let the dogs out of the bedroom while I was stuffing myself thru the window and the dogs have strewn trash ALL over my kitchen floor and living room rug. egg shells, tomato sauce, caramel sauce, rotten eggplant- everything! I clean floor, on my knees- my mop broke. The stains are still in the rug. .....sigh.....
I try to nap, but the phone rings, i keep having to get up because of my teeny-tiny bladder. LOL! I sort of kind of get a nap, but not really.
DH calls and says hes leaving work and going to gym- since Im forbidden to go grocery shopping I ask what we are eating- he says "Im not eating, I have a weigh-in tomorrow" I say okay- what about Megan and me? Uhh, I dont know, isnt there food there? No, there isnt.
Sigh....he has no response. So i stuck like a college kid scrounging around in my kitchen to feed DD and me.
Really, inside, Im laughing.

i just love coming on here and seeing everyone's creations! Cheers me right up!!!!

Wow, what a day. Pulling yourself pregnant through a window -- too funny, but oh dear you poor thing!

I agree with jham It's perfect Linnette. Great job.

It's perfect Linnette! Don't change a thing!

Three words Jessica: Spice Chai Latte! I buy it at the grocery store. My stores carry a brand called Pacific Chai. It is tea but doesn't really taste very tea-ish. It is not as cloyingly sweet as hot chocolate. It is yummy. If you don't find it at the store, let me know and I'll bring you some!
I use whatever I can get my hands on, but I really like the ones from Old Navy. They seem thicker and softer.
I like Chai Tea Lattte also! I get Tazo Chai from Publix. You just add milk.

:coffee: See above.
Interesting! I'll have Lin look at his store or check publix! Thanks![/QUOTE]

One more question for those who applique t-shirts or do iron ons:

Would it look silly to do something to a v- neck shirt? I really do not like crew neck t-shirts on me but have an idea of matching family shirts I want to applique.
I have used v neck tee's for Abby and they look cute.
Here's my first Raglan. I got the Pooh fleece as a remnant on Black Friday. Now it can be nice and warm when we go to WDW next week. My ticker is a day off because I never changed it when the 7 for 4 deal came out and I added a night. SOOOOOO much left to do!

I LOVE that light blue Pooh toile!!

Tom- gorgeous Vida! You have such an eye for color! Hard to believe something as little as "I didnt have grey in my stash" kept you back from adding him LOL! i think its perfect! colors are great!!! So perfect for the FL sun!

Oh my goodness I am so sorry you have had so many things go wrong today. I hope you can find something yummy for dinner. We like to have grilled cheese sandwiches or pancakes on those kind of nights.

I know this is really off topic, but I have to ask. I have been a long time lurker on these threads. I have started to sew b/c I have just loved everything I have seen on here. The question is has anyone gone the week of memorial day? I want to go May 22-29 b/c ds will be four on the 26th. Is that a really bad idea? I am asking here b/c it seems like everyone here is a seasoned veteran at WDW. This will be our first trip and I just thought it would be awesome for ds birthday. Any suggestions???

we have been on memorial day my middle daughters high school actually marched in the nite time parade on memorial day, that isnt a bad week because most schools actually are not out till june the 1st, that is still off season i think. texas schools dont get out till june 1st, fl dont get out till then and the schools up north are teh later part of june.

Sorry you are having one of those days. I had to laugh a little of you climbing in the window....had to see that!:grouphug:

Great job! Can you use any material for a Raglan? I have some flannel I have no idea what to do with it!

Good luck!

Ok I finished the jacket for Nik. It include some embroidery:cool1:

I love the embroidery but am not thrilled with the jacket but I think I am just so spoiled with Carla's designs!

I think it came out great! Love the embroidery on it!

I finished another outfit for our trip!:cool1:
I don't know if I will have any time to get anything else done or not! The time is ticking away, and I have to work extra next week so that I can have the time off!
Vida with Jeanne's spin on the back! I was going to put Tramp on the back, but I didn't have any grey fabric in my stash.

Tom that is just wonderful! :cheer2: I love the colors and ruffles and the applique. We just watched that movie and its so cute! I love the older Disney movies! I know you said that this would be your last outfit...but don't forget you have to blog too. I keep checking for updates :rotfl2: Just thought I would give you one more thing to do before you go......:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

The thread trim will cut the thread after you have stitched. It doesn't trim it close to the garment, but it does cut so you don't have to pull it out and cut. It's pretty nifty! My machine also allows me to tell it to always tack down stitch at the beginning and the end of the stitching and then cut the threads when it has finished.
Awesome! Does it have the autothreader and bobbin loader and the knee pedal to raise the foot?
To answer your other question, I think the Ellure Plus has a 5 x 7 hoop and a 5 x 12 hoop. Wow!

OMGarsh...is this not the funniest thing :rotfl2: ever...I am just imaging the whole scene unfold! You poor thing! I hope you got extra brownie points from God for trying so hard to get to church!!! And if you didn't whine, complain or have a bad attitude after all of that, you could probably teach the class!!!! :thumbsup2

You know the other day after working all day and picking up all the kids at school and making dinner and cleaning up and picking up the clutter around the house and helping with homework and giving the kids a bath and making lunches for the next day and setting out clothes for everyone, I state to my DH......

I need a wife!!!

His response.....????

"Yup"

Really cute fleece!

I once had a friend who had a really lazy husband and joked around about Mike becoming a polygamist and taking her as a second wife. I joked with her and said "Hey, if you brought in a second income, I'd take care of your kids" :rotfl2:

My DH says that all the time about me having an affair. He says as long as the other guy starts to "chip in" around here, he's all for it! Ah love, it's wonderful isn't it! It's a good thing I know we have a happy marriage otherwise I'd probably start to wonder!

Did y'all see this fabric? It's SO pretty! My girls are a bit too old for it though.:sad2:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/DISNEY-WINNIE-TH...14&_trkparms=72:1215|66:4|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Made dresses for my girls from that fabric and I love it. Unfortunately I used the dreaded, fraying and puckering gingham fabric from Wal-Mart so it wasn't too pleasant of an experience. But the dresses were adorable. My girls NEVER wore them though ~ they didn't want to go to Crystal Palace that night and didn't want to wear them (and they are young enough and love Pooh) for whatever reason. I think they found a good home though, I gave them to my cousin for her little girl. But if you are looking for it it's from Wal-Mart.

Does anyone have a good goofy coloring page?? Or can anyone direct me to a seller who sells a machine applique for Goofy??

I would like to make a Goofy shirt for the big give instead of a bowling shirt. It is for Hayden and since he likes orange I thought a Goofy applique on an orange shirt would look nice. I was going to make the bowling shirt out of Cars fabric but a cars outfit has already been made for Hayden. I do have some very colorful fabric with Mickey and Pluto on it I could make a bowling shirt out of too.

Wow, sorry to ramble. Any suggestions would be welcome.

He's a Goofy Cutie.

Haven't been on for a few days... life has been sooooo busy... but I have some new things to share very sooN!!!!!

Lori

Hi everyone, I have spent a good hour or more catching up and looking at all the wonderful outfits.

There are too many things to comment on individually, but I have enjoyed seeing them. I really like the Shamu outfit. I think it is perfect. So many boys outfits are a little too over the top, but this one is really just perfect.

I also love the Vida with the ruffles on the back. I was a little surprised when I saw it though. I have some St. Patty's fabric on my cutting table already cut in strips to do the same thing. LOL!!! GMTA!! Actually, applique is not my strong suit, so I was going to do the ruffles as a way to avoid having to do an applique.

ya know, i made a dress for my dd out of that fabric and she too refused to wear it. She was 22 months at the time, and had never said she didnt want to wear something before. but everytime i tried to put that dress on her she cried.... i love that fabric! The mean mommy that i am, forced her to wear it to crystal palace, once we were out the door she was fine, but it was a fight to get her in it.

I'm getting a new sewing machine!!! Yay!!! Anything will be an upgrade from what I have (Singer from Target). I need some suggestions.

I am a novice sewer, but I really like it. I want to be able to do embroidery as well. Digital would be great.
