I finished another outfit for our trip!:cool1:
I don't know if I will have any time to get anything else done or not! The time is ticking away, and I have to work extra next week so that I can have the time off!
Vida with Jeanne's spin on the back! I was going to put Tramp on the back, but I didn't have any grey fabric in my stash.

Adorable!! I am working on a Lady and the Tramp set, and I think I used the same image of Lady - it's very similar. Mine's not finished though she got put away to work on the Big Give sets and I haven't picked her back up yet. I my have to try to finish her thi weekend. I hope mine turns out half as good as yours!
Three words Jessica: Spice Chai Latte! I buy it at the grocery store. My stores carry a brand called Pacific Chai. It is tea but doesn't really taste very
Interesting! I'll have Lin look at his store or check publix! Thanks!

I have another outfit, Wall-E this time almost done. I will get pictures up when I do finish it, hopefully this afternoon.

Can someone point me to the person that makes the Mickey Star Wars shirt? Also, is there someone out that that does or can do "Rocket" from Little Einsteins? I bought some fabric to try it myself but I am kind of chickening out and maybe buying ready made would be better. Thanks.

i can't stand jiffy shirts! I have ordered from there and a few things are okay, but sizes are so off it is rediculous! Ordered a pink t the other day and might as well be toilet paper it is so thin! I ordered the same shirt that I bought LIn from walmart, it was fruit of the loom and I checked the #'s off the tag. The one from Jiffy was much thinner and no way the same.

I like old navy for boys or mens! Love them in fact. Hanes 100% cotton (was from walmart) are pretty darn good. Faded glory work and so far have washed up okay.

Girls are another story, unless toddler then Garanimals is #1! I bought one about 4 years ago and HATED it and now that is all I want for toddlers! They are my favorite! Cherokee is okay from target, but more expensive.

Jerzees I find are always junk and I waste them, I have a pile sitting here. But a friend sent me three and they were decent and I was okay with them so maybe it is just the ones I see or something!

This is disappointing. I was hoping to order a bunch of tshirts for some projects and just wanted to have them all ordered at once rather than run around to Target or Walmart searching for the right sizes and the right colors..

Never used Jiffy tee, but I love Old Navy and Target tees - Walmart is up there too. I like Target perfect fit tees for girls (size 4 and up) but Old Navy is a close second. I like to use Old Navy for boys. I couldn't find short sleeved tees anywhere (nearly impossible in January in Michigan!) for my Big Give sets. Luckily Walmart had a some clearanced and I was able to find the last 2 in the sizes I needed.

Where is she racing? I live in the Oklahoma City area. Be sure and bring some warm clothes. We are going to be mid to high 70's today and then tomorrow 58, Sat 38 and Sun 44. That is typical for Oklahoma. Don't like the weather, wait a few hours and it will probably change.:rotfl2:
Sooner Nationals in Guthrie. But we're stayin in Oklahoma City. I can't wait to go to the disney store! I need a fix. LOL Ours has been gone for a few years now. Your weather is a lot like ours here in the Tx panhandle. I didn't realize it was supposed to be that cold over the weekend though. It was 81 yesterday!

I know, that's why I thought I'd give you a heads up. The weather is always crazy here. Hot one day and cold the next. You never know what you're going to get.

I have had a slightly different experience with Jiffy Shirts.
We have done two large orders each year for the past two years.
You have to watch the fabric content and the weight of the shirts. And typically they aren't as soft as the Cherokee or Old Navy. But the prices are low, low, low. I like them more for Iron-on transfers (like the Dis-signers do) than for applique and embroidery. But Hubby lives in plain polo shirts and pocket t-shirts and they have a ton to choose from at Jiffy Shirt.
We have been pleased with the Champion T-shirts and Dessert Wash sweatshirts. I have several shirts from Anvil, in a womens cut that are good, not super soft but fine.
Of the well over 50 shirts we have ordered from them, two have had small issues, a seem under the arm was not quite right or something along those lines. But for a shirt I spent less than $2 on, not a big deal.
My son is really hard on clothes, shirts especially and we go through so many in a summer that getting them for under $2 make it easier :)

For something you want to last I would say go with a nicer shirt. For the kids I like the old navy, or cherokee as was mentioned before, Kohls also had some great Hanes shirts a few months ago for men and boys. For me I love Eddie Bauer Outlet t-shirts :) especially for Hot Fix crystals.

Wow! Your bows turned out fantastic! I keep thinking I need to learn how to make them instead of buying them but I never seem to get around to it!
Thank you:) I'm telling ya! If I can do it, you can!

That's very cute.

I can't wait until my old cheap machine breaks so I can get a really nice one. I won't be able to justify it to DH until then, though. Love this machine ... oh the possibilities...

Ok, I finally made something for my boy. I made this fleece robe, and I used Carla's Easy Fit Pants for the pants. It was next to impossible to get him to hold still long enough to take some pictures:

The pants went together super fast. Only hitch was I forgot to add the cuff before sewing the pants together. I had to add the cuffs afterwards, which was fine, but it would have been much easier to do it first like you're supposed to.
So cute! Looks like he loves it!

I made this outfit for one of my gives but I am not too sure if I like it

It's great Linette! Did you actually cut the fabric with the cricut?

I love it! The Lady and the Tramp has a special place in my heart because my Grandmother was an Animator for that movie:) She drew Trusty's tail. lol.
Good luck!

Ok I finished the jacket for Nik. It include some embroidery:cool1:

I think it is cute:)

Needed a place to shout, no one gets it here. For the first time ever:

I MADE TWO BUTTON HOLES!!!!!!!! YAY ME!!!

Thanks for the tutorials!!!

Hurray for you, that is a huge accomplishment!! I am terrified of button holes, they are one of my greatest sewing weaknesses. In fact I have 4 bowling shirts sitting on my sewing table waiting for buttons and taunting me right now!

Here is the simply sweet I made Baby Emily
Adorable!!!

That is great!

I have been really busy sewing for out upcoming trip. Here is the Evil Queen and DD2 is Ursula.
LOVE everything you posted. The Evil Queen and Ursula are my favorites. Thanks for mentioning that you used the Insa pattern. I have that one but haven't used it yet. I have the Viking Saphire 870. I love it. I did buy a gathering foot for it-it was "only" about $15. I still need to play around with it some more.

I know this is really off topic, but I have to ask. I have been a long time lurker on these threads. I have started to sew b/c I have just loved everything I have seen on here. The question is has anyone gone the week of memorial day? I want to go May 22-29 b/c ds will be four on the 26th. Is that a really bad idea? I am asking here b/c it seems like everyone here is a seasoned veteran at WDW. This will be our first trip and I just thought it would be awesome for ds birthday. Any suggestions???
I took my DD to WDW for her 7th birthday 5/22/06. It got more crowded toward the holiday weekend but now the Florida kids don't get out school til after Memorial Day so that should work in your favor. I have been to WDW 4 time in August but my hottest day ever at WDW was 5/23/06. It was 103.

Yesterday I was feeling a little better so I made a rag quilt for my neighbor who just had a baby. It went together so much faster than the first one I made! Once you know what you are doing, they just fly. I hope she doesn't mind the pink, it's for a boy, but that's the flannel I had on hand.
How cute! Perfect for a baby!

O.K. I hope this works. It is my first try at posting a picture and believe me when I say that I am computer challenged.:rotfl: Anyway here is my version of the Jolly Holiday Dress.
WOW!

WOW! What a magical experience!

I'm gonna chime in with sewing machine advice too. I had a "New Home" machine that I had for YEARS! When I found this thread, I pulled the thing out, dusted it off and started sewing. In a few months, I felt the need to "move up" to a machine with more stitches. I bought a Brother csi6000. In just a few months, I had to take the thing to my machine shop because it was off time. It cost me $100 to fix. The machine only cost $170 to begin with! Within just a few months later, it was messed up again. The machine was just not meant to do the amount of sewing that I was doing on it. When it went out of time the second time, I told my DH that there was no sense in spending another $100 to fix it. It was time to buy a good, quality machine. I went to the dealer in my city, and came home with a Baby Lock Decorator's Choice. I LOVE that machine! It is very heavy duty, and it stitches through layers and layers of ruffles like a hot knife through butter! If you think that there is any chance that you will continue in this hobby for any amount of time - TAKE THE PLUNGE! Buy a good machine!
My New Home was about 25 years old. I brought it in for a cleaning when I started sewing again last spring but it was still really stiff. I'm very happy with my Viking!

I FINALLY made it over. And everytime I got ready to post, there was more and more pages to read! You girls are way to chatty! I am finally caught up, and I have absolutely loved everything that has been posted. I don't have any sewing to show (I am mad at my fabric store for having zero selection so I am not in the mood to sew), but I made a hair bow holder today. I was so much fun to paint!
Cute!

Here is Hannah's round neck dress to match Elizabeths Rumba
Cute!

Ok, I finally made something for my boy. I made this fleece robe, and I used Carla's Easy Fit Pants for the pants. It was next to impossible to get him to hold still long enough to take some pictures:
Love your robe & PJ pants!

CRAZY!!!! I love that outfit! Love the drawstring.

I finished another outfit for our trip!
WOW Tom! Love your Lady Vida!

Ok guys! I'm getting ready to pack up and leave for the weekend so don't be too chatty k? My oldest DD is BMX racing in Oklahoma. Wish us luck!!!!
Good luck!

For those that applique t-shirts often:
What type or brand of shirt do you like? 100% cotton, 50/50 blend? Hanes, Jerzees?
Have you ordered from Jiffyshirts.com before? Or some other online vendor?
I have ordered from Jiffyshirts and really like them but I've only done iron on designs with the T's from there so far. I really like the Gildan Ultra cotton T. I like the neck line on the woman's shirt. I just placed an order with they yesterday for a long sleeve woman's Gildan T. I am going to try to make me some Pooh PJ's. I'll be sure to post photos with my results. OH...and I placed the order yesterday and the UPS tracking says they are out for delivery today.

Ok I finished the jacket for Nik.
That came out great!

One more question for those who applique t-shirts or do iron ons:

Would it look silly to do something to a v- neck shirt? I really do not like crew neck t-shirts on me but have an idea of matching family shirts I want to applique.

the deadline is the 26:faint: :faint:

Linette, this came out wonderful. IF, and that is a big IF, I did anything, maybe a few water drops or splashes around the tail? Like he's jumping from the water. But I think it's great the way it is.

I have used v-neck shirts and scoop neck for this kind of thing.... worked fine.
I think it might depend on the design. But I say give it a try :)

I noticed my Target (in MI) had them about a week ago. I went looking when I saw the swim suits.

Here's my first Raglan. I got the Pooh fleece as a remnant on Black Friday. Now it can be nice and warm when we go to WDW next week. My ticker is a day off because I never changed it when the 7 for 4 deal came out and I added a night. SOOOOOO much left to do!

Have you ordered from Jiffyshirts.com before? Or some other online vendor?

I have ordered a ton of stuff from jiffy shirts. I have gotten mostly white cotton shirts. I have tie-dyed them, used iron ons and done some appliqueing. What I like is that I can order as many of a certain size/color as I want. The Rabbit skins toddler shirts do run small. They are very fast with shipping! I get the heavy weight shirts alot of times especially for woman! I also bought some tote bags from there.

I also like the cherokee ultra tees from target. They have them on clearance a lot of times. I just got some last week for .87!!

I know this wasn't your question but just fyi-
Last time I time I tie dyed I used some hanes shirts and they do not take the
color! They must have some stain protection stuff on them! It took for ever before the color would soak in and it made a huge mess and ran all over the place! The shirts I got from jiffyshirts worked really great!

I LOVE that light blue Pooh toile!!

Tom- gorgeous Vida! You have such an eye for color! Hard to believe something as little as "I didnt have grey in my stash" kept you back from adding him LOL! i think its perfect! colors are great!!! So perfect for the FL sun!

Last 24hrs in a nutshell. Last night as Im sewing up the feliz overdress (can i just tell you, this is an easy pattern, I just cant sit for long, so take me forever) anyway I realize one of my side overdress pieces has little snips in it. Megan took my snippers and clipped it while it was still laying folded in half and cut 3 little slices. I guess i'm going to try and put a patch behind- but will that keep the fabric from fraying???? They are about 2" apart Id guess- 3 times!!!

This morning- Hooray! i get to go to my class at church- im taking a class on a book called "Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes...in you and your kids"
I am so happy to be going! I get Megan all dressed, pig tails and Cindy bows and all. Then i focus on myself, put the dogs in my bedroom, put my jacket on and realize Megan has closed the door at the top of our stairs- which has a lock, but no key and she locked it. I have no access to the garage, and DH has a lovely habit of ALWAYS locking the back door. I pray for the best and go out the front door and limp my way thru the snow, down our hill to the back. Yup, it's locked. But windows right beside it are not. It's my only option. Pregnant or not, symphysis or not- it's my only option. Other than being trapped in my house all day- which is NOT an option. I flip over a rubbermaid type container thats out there and try to use that- but its so cold it just shatters under me. I go for a office trash can and flip that over- it's filled with ice. That doesnt shatter. Im able to launch half my body thru the window- my hands can reach the couch, but its too far for me to pull my body onto. So I have to do the inevitable, I have to pull one leg in at a time. With a heavy and ho I manage to get my fat butt and belly thru the window (thank the Lord there were no cameras around!). I go up the stairs and open the door and Megan in her 2yr old voice says "I DID IT!!" i look at her and dryly reply- "No, I did it"
We leave. All goes well. A lot of walking, but still a good time.
I get home- Megan had let the dogs out of the bedroom while I was stuffing myself thru the window and the dogs have strewn trash ALL over my kitchen floor and living room rug. egg shells, tomato sauce, caramel sauce, rotten eggplant- everything! I clean floor, on my knees- my mop broke. The stains are still in the rug. .....sigh.....
I try to nap, but the phone rings, i keep having to get up because of my teeny-tiny bladder. LOL! I sort of kind of get a nap, but not really.
DH calls and says hes leaving work and going to gym- since Im forbidden to go grocery shopping I ask what we are eating- he says "Im not eating, I have a weigh-in tomorrow" I say okay- what about Megan and me? Uhh, I dont know, isnt there food there? No, there isnt.
Sigh....he has no response. So i stuck like a college kid scrounging around in my kitchen to feed DD and me.
Really, inside, Im laughing.

i just love coming on here and seeing everyone's creations! Cheers me right up!!!!

I love it! The Lady and the Tramp has a special place in my heart because my Grandmother was an Animator for that movie:) She drew Trusty's tail. lol.

How cool! How come you never told us that before? You know we all live for stuff like that!

Yikes :scared: ! That sounds like a fun day for you! I swear husbands and kids could drive you crazy! I have a married straight friend who swears it would be easier to be a lesbian b/c at least another woman would "get it" and be more helpful than a husband! And somedays I agree! Okay, I hope that wasn't a controversial statement and please know that it wasn't intended to be insulting or argumentative.....just a funny comment that I'm repeating! Please no flames!
