CLOSED - FRIDGE LOST - The Under-POP-ulated Fridge Swap

Hello,

Wow, was just looking at when I was last on Disboards--it's been awhile.

I am in the early stages of planning my 2010 Disney trip and just today booked Pop Century with a AAA discount (have to wait until next year for the AP rates).

Could we reserve the fridge for Oct 22, 2010 thru Nov 11, 2010? Yup, it is a long trip but I justify it to myself by reminding myself that I won't be seeing Mickey this year.

Ok, I have made a new box for the fridge that i will be bringing down with me on Saturday. I will take some pics of the box before I leave, as I will not be on the internet while I am there. The box is white and lime green with the signs for our swap on the sides and the name of the swap in large letters. It is all secured with lime green duck tape too! Hopefully it will stand out a bit in luggage storage.

Also, we will be staying until the 14th, so if there's no one after me, I will keep it until that morning.

Welcome back OandA!! How was your trip?

We just got back last night. We spent July 31-August 6 at the Pop and then August 6 we moved to the Poly until yesterday. I must say I loved the fridge and the freezer part of it. I kept powerade and water in the freezer and after 12 hours in the park I still had ice cold drinks for Fantasmic! All I did was wrap 3 bottles together in a plastic poncho as insulation.

I got the fridge yesterday along with the coffee pot. If we have any extra bottles of water we will pass them on as that is what Schooner did. There are some coffee filters (not too many left), creamers, sugar packets and there will also be some folgers coffee to be passed on to the next person. The box looks great! Schooner also passed along some tide, which I will also pass along when we are done with it!

That's great, Ashm373! Glad it went well. If you have time, could you let us know what kind of coffee filters the pot uses? The next person planning on using the coffee pot might want to bring some.

Hi guys! Just getting home and re-settled in life. I took a picture of the fridge box so you would know what it looks like and emailed to Avonlady, but I think I had the wrong email address somehow because it kept bouncing back to me. I will upload on here in the next couple of days.

The fridge was great!! So much room! I bought a can of coffee and had some creamers and sugar that I had borrowed from the Royal Pacific Resort , but I never actually made a pot of coffee!! That's why they got passed on to ashm. And the Tide - I always get liquid tide but hate to throw away the 2/3 of bottle that remains.

The filters are the 'standard' filters - flat bottom-ish ones, but I honestly think anything would work. The ones there are flat and fold into the filter part, and I'm sure they work fine. Someone previous said they used paper towels - so anything goes.

Our first time at POP was good - we were at POR last year, so we noticed some differences. I really didn't like that we had to use our room towels at the pool - we were always calling housekeeping for more towels. Our Mousekeeper was amazing!! We had a great collection of towel animals, way more than at POR.

So many stories, another dream vacation! Our friends had the rental fridge and they couldn't believe the room we had and how little they had for their premium priced fridge. Anyway, gotta go but will try to get the picture up here soon!
