Just 1 more day of waiting before we arrive at WL. I hope the storm end before we get there.
I'm excited for you! Don't worry about Debby Downer - she's moving out of FL and you're going to have a great vacation. This is the rainy season, so just make sure you're prepared and you'll be fine. Don't let some rain stop you from having a great time in the parks (lightning's another story:eek:). Better a rainy day at WDW than at home:umbrella:

Long time lurker here. We recently switched our reservation for sept 22-30 from BC to WL. I'm still a little undecided, though (I'm a perfect candidate for the RC thread!). I have stayed at WL 4 times in the past 4 years, but we stayed at BC on our most recent trip and fell in love with that resort, too. I love each fir different reasons! Part of me really wants to experiencw the BC pool in the warm weather as it was a little too cool when we were there in March. I still feel like WL is home, though. I'm hoping the AP discount comes out this week, and then I plan on making my FINAL decision. Regardless of where we stay in sept, we will be back to WL next March for sure!
:welcome: to the DIS and the WL/VWL thread, JulieT3! I completely understand the lure of both the Epcot resorts and MK resorts. I think you're the perfect candidate for a split stay. If you're booking a room only reservation, it's very easy to do. You could start out at an Epcot resort then move over to WL and end on a high note. BTW, we'd love to have you (and all resort-decision challenged DISers) over on the Resort Changers' thread anytime:)

17 Days Until we arrive, getting excited and praying for a Bunk Bed room on CL
Just to confirm: Did you email the IPO and verify that your bunk bed request is in your reservation? Also ask as soon as you check-in on the 7th floor. If for some reason you weren't assigned a bunk, the CL staff will do their best to get you into one. There are no guarantees when staying CL, but the staff and room assignor will do what they can.

I did email with the IPO about my bunk bed request and they confirmed it is noted on my reservation, I think I am going to do online check in, it says I can do that on July 3rd, is it ok to do online check in when you have a special request?

Still trying to plan some activities when we are there, any thoughts for my boys 10 and 14, some of the things they wanted to do, the 10 year old is not old enough for so they are bummed

Another day of research, the first page is a bit confusing here. May have to do Poly GV or TPV CL. I know that resort. But I am still trying to understand this one. With no monorail. Boats only go to MK, right? If you dont go to MK buses are the only alternate transportation to anywhere else?

Boats also go to the CR so you can catch the monorail there.

Go ahead and check-in online if you want to. The only difference it'll make when staying CL is your credit card will have already been submitted so you won't have to show it to them upon arrival. It will not erase your requests, the room assignor will still see them in your reservation, even if you can't add them to your OCI form.

Here are some activities for ages 10 and up:

~The Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot is wonderful. I highly recommend it. Your boys will even get to see gators and feed fish.

~The Archery Experience at FW is also great and highly recommend it, too. They even do it if it starts raining, which was actually kind of fun. Your boys (and you) will have a great time.

~The Family Magic Tour is at the MK. And, the Magic Behind our Steam Trains Tour is also at the MK and I think your boys would love it.

~The Seas Aqua Tour at Epcot and horseback riding at FW.

~Bike rentals at WL and FW and canoe/kayak rentals at FW. They could also rent rods and bait and go fishing at FW.

~Sea Raycers: DS14 is old enough to drive (you need to be 12) and DS can accompany him, but can't drive. It's my DD13's favorite activity, especially since she can drive alone now.

Ohh ok, Cool. CR there is a truly confusing place for us. I don't think we will ever stay there lol.

I always wondered if they would ever retheme it because to us it has all the warmth and charm of a cold bowl of oatmeal. "Contemporary" is always going to be a moving target as the times change. Given the location and the coolness of the monorail going right through it, the potential is there to be something more spectacular than it is, but I guess the die is kind of cast at this point. I guess that's why the WL has so much more allure. If only the monorail ran out there and around the lake to Ft. Wilderness and the potential new resort...

Oh yeah you hit the nail right on the head with the cold bowl comment. When we went through there last trip it was so depressing and cold, as well as overwhelming and confusing. Unless they did some uplifting to the theme we'll never stay there. But yes if only the monorail did go there. But that's a lot of demo to old track, construction for new track. Then the monorail would be down for some time and with disney's track record with switch tracks they probably won't add another one of those. But any how back to WL.

There is a boat to MK and then a boat that goes to CR (where you can pick up the monorail) and to Fort Wilderness Campground (which is a fun place to check out and convenient if you plan to do HDDR or MBYBBQ). There is also a trail between WL and FW Campground.

Bus transportation is available for all parks and DTD as well.

This is a test to see if I am doing this right. Can someone tell me if they can see the following picture, which just happened to be our view from our WL balcony?

You did it! I'm going to post a link to it on the first page so that everyone can see what a Woods View 7th floor view is like. What was your room number and were you toward the middle of the wing or closer to the boat dock?

We were room 7060. We were the 3rd room on the left side of the long hall to go down to the Yosemite suite and the elevators that take you right down to Roaring Forks. It looked like the first two rooms were handicapped ones, I noticed they each had two peep holes. And our room had a door to connect to the second room.

I will post more pictures in a bit, but I have to mow the lawn!
