Alright, I guess we'll see how it goes with the refurbishments (if it's done by the time we are there) and ask for the tickets...

KaliKT: AKL is beautiful. The rooms are my favorite in WDW and the lobby as well.

The 2-3% is kept for maintenance, not for cash rentals.

This isn't what I have been told, but regardless generally if you book far enough in advance (i.e. 10-11 months ahead) there should be availability for a cash reservation.

Members can't book at the resorts they own at until 11 months out. So you won't see anything until after that. Also, since VWL is a smaller DVC resort and is sold out to members, you might need to hope that some members have traded their points for a non-DVC stay. Otherwise, nothing will be available.

We were able to get a 1 bedroom villa, with a RO discount, for this December in July. There was still availability after we booked, too. I was surprised because I'd assumed that there would be nothing available based on what I've read on the DVC boards, but it wasn't hard to secure a room at all.

Yay! It's Dalmatian Day for us until we return to WDW!

101 days to go :cool1:

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge in January. We booked a Courtyard View bunk-bed room. Which would be better the Woods view or Courtyard view? We booked the Courtyard as it was less expensive than the other at the time, now it's switched again. Above was mentioned about seeing partial views of Wishes and the castle. Of course, we would like that. So, basically, where should I request a room?

The pricing for the January room rates is crazy. I've been pricing it out for our daughter and ourselves and the woods view rooms are now only a few dollars less than courtyard view. WV rooms used to be only a few dollars more than standard view rooms, and now they are over $40 a day more than standard view. :( I guess the word got out that woods views were popular.

The north wing upper floors can have a partial view of the fireworks, but there is no guarantee. But they do have a views of the woods. ;) Since the cost of a WV is only a little less than courtyard view, you'll just have to decide what view is most important. Wishes is usually early in late January, like 8 pm or 9pm and we weren't usually back in the room that early to see them from our woods view room. :(

Good Morning!!

75 days today and we will be arriving at WL for 1st time!! Getting very excited and I was able to book the Premium Frozen Package yesterday- I know it is way overpriced but to not have the stress of worrying about seating and such is a load off my mind. My girls love Frozen and so do I- so this should be fun. I am excited to see what the pool area enhancements and such will look like- does anyone happen to know exactly how much different it will be? I just wish December would hurry up and get here. Well have great day everyone :)

54 Days left for us!!! I cannot wait to wake up that morning and get into the car! That's when it will feel real!!! We just got our MVMCP tickets a couple days ago, FP picked, MB colors picked, got our kids a bunch of shirts, and even got myself an Elsa sweatshirt!!! LOL aside from packing I think we're ready to go!!!!! I cannot wait to step into the lobby of WL!!! I'm just so excited!!!

Are you guys all ready to go?!

Okay my MB's arrived. :cheer2:

This is the first set I've gotten that hasn't been overnighted. I figured they would quit doing that eventually.

However they originated in Dallas, transferred to Tennessee and then double backed to my post office in Oklahoma. :confused3

Literally it passed me by (I live 3 minutes from the major North South interstate and 10 minutes from the major East West interstate) and then came back. ;)

We have set our ADR's and we're going to do Beaches and Cream on our arrival day, Trail's End on Tuesday and Brown Derby on Wednesday.

KOOK:

I can get some pictures of current construction hopefully from a courtyard view room (Oct 26-30) if you need them but I've never mastered posting pictures (although I recently downloaded the snapbucket and photobucket apps and I'm going to try to play around with it). Is there somewhere I can send them for the thread to use if I fail to figure out the apps?

Oh that's funny about the MB I saw on today's news that Dallas suffered "hurricane like" weather - - the damage is awful...

WDWKOOK,

Barry is the one that drove the girls to Grand Floridian. They all enjoyed their stay at WL. Both girls would love to stay there again.

As promised, some of my DD's 2BR photos

This table became our touring table. (you will see in next photo) Behind the double doors to the right is the washer/dryer area.

Sorry we didn't get a photo of the sleeper couch open. Cute Bambi pillow will have to suffice.

My DD has years of experience finding hidden Mickeys. ( I have raised her well) :)
That's it for this weekend. Next time I will post departure day photos- those last minute, trying to savor everything until the next time kind of photos.
Soon, off to playoff game! Go Nats!!

After going back and forth and back and forth some more for months we have FINALLY chosen WL for our Feb trip- only to log on today and find our room category- standard room was not available :confused3
For those experts- what do you think, could this change? Should I book a woods view- this is really more then I wanted to spend- help ease my mind- or I will go nuts worrying about this

I had a Woods View room booked for 12/3-12/9. When the Fall promo came out my TA was able to apply the discount for some savings. Today I went to do my online check-in and discovered when she made the savings change it switched us to a Courtyard Room with Bunk Beds. We really don't want bunk beds! I contacted the TA, but the resort is sold out now so I will have to keep it.

First off are the bunk beds small? My DD is 12 and is average size, but a toddler sized bunk will not be great.

Do you think there is any chance at check-in that we could be switched to a 2 Queen room, or are the bunk beds set in stone?

Thanks!
