We have a cruise through NCL in February that is still booked.
But even that isn't guaranteed now.

Everything is just falling out from underneath us.

Excited to be headed to VWL for first time end of Aug! We have booked a deluxe studio. I'm looking for suggestions on room requests. Would hope to have something facing the pool area and closer to the main building. TIA!!

Welcome! I'm not a DVC expert, but we do have a handy-dandy VWL room number map in the VWL section of the thread HERE. You could make a request for a villa facing the pool. The woods and Bay Lake will be beyond the pool area. The north end rooms would be closest to WL. The map linked above shows Studios do face the pool and woods area and some are near the exit to the pool.

You are correct. Unless you have a reservation, you will have to book them one day at a time..

I don't want to take anything away from this wonderful thread, but there is a very helpful group of VWL lovers over on the DVC boards.

This thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3242976 is a lot about community but also about getting Member specific, rent/trade and VWL room questions answered.

So pop on over and take a look, especially if you are staying at VWL.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Wdw promotes all this prep lambing and them does stuff like this that keeps people from preplanning. The 180+10 is an onsite perk and they should have package dates book able in time to use it.

i've been saying this all along. even when i chatted with a CM about it. they said the promotions department hasn't released the package rates. and i told them that they really ought to have it together by the 180 day mark. they encourage it so hard on the site, but then they can't even get it done.

i get that they want to adjust their fees and look at promotions and the like, but it's not like the new year sneaks up on anyone. we've all seen it coming all year. just like last year. and the one before that, and...

We are heading to airport in just a few hours...our flight leaves Detroit at 3:30 pm. So we are estimating that we will be at WL by 8:00 pm! Woo Hoo! And, thanks to KOOK, I think I have figured out how to post pictures....so hopefully I will have some visual updates on the stream/waterfall project.

Leaving work in 1 1/2 hours! I can't believe I came in today, but had to get some things done before leaving. LOL

In Photobucket, click on the photo, then click EDIT. Then choose EDIT SIZE. A nice size is anywhere from about 450-650, then it will automatically set the vertical size based on that.

Have you seen the MB decorating thread? GrandCalifornian's wife, Melissa found it and posted the link in their PTR. There are some very creative folks out there. BTW, I still love your name

I know that a lot of people decorate their MBs. I think I will wait to be inspired by what I see around the parks. For now, I just love the pure Disney colors. One of my favorite parts of the old Animation tour was the jars of Disney paint. My DD and I would just stand and say- that blue or that pink look just like Sleeping Beauty.
However, my DD and I have threatened to put stickers on her BF's band!

I am trying to keep positive, and I know that WDW isn't going anywhere, but I just feel so at home and love spending time with DH there, especially since this will be a short trip home before he goes back (IF he comes home in October).

I just keep praying that my Short Term comes through (and angry that I was denied in the first place). I thank the higher beings every day that my DH has a job that can support us without me getting a paycheck. *knock wood*

Good Morning, Lodgers! Well, we made it to the lodge last night and it TRULY is beautiful. All the pictures I have seen....it looks just as amazing as I had envisioned!

All the CM's are kind and helpful, as always. I thought I would give a bit of info on our experiences, so far:

1. Stream/waterfall project: still no water flowing. I said a little prayer when we pulled in last night that we would in and it would be going, but it wasn't so. The tree blockade is still up in the lobby surrounding the bridge - but, other than that, we have seen zero signs of work. No workers, no equipment, etc. I will ask later today if there is a completion date update and will also see if workers appear later today.

2. Room request: We had originally requested a "bear face" room and I had even called 5 days ahead to confirm the request was still noted. We were not granted our request. We are in room 4125. This is a courtyard view room and still looks directly out over the the pool at Bay Lake. Beautiful. . The rooms are good, the decor is really cute (love the woodsy character tiles in the shower!) although the rooms are a bit smaller than other deluxes- which we knew and expected. It works for us though!

3. Magical Express: we arrive at MCO last night at 6:05 pm and by 6:30 we were the first people on the ME. We had to wait another 30 (torturous! Lol) minutes for others to board and the ME to depart. It took 42 minutes to arrive at WL. We were the second stop and the drop off order was: Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian and Contemporary.

4. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the boat to MK! Can't say that one enough!

This morning, we are on our way to Hollywood Studios for EMH - a little later than we had anticipated. It was a late night at MK (returned to the room at 12:20 AM)! We waited just over 20 minutes for a bus this morning, it arrived empty but our stop filled it up! It was direct service to the studios. Check in again later!

Thanks for the update! There are only something like 14 Bear face rooms, so it's not surprising that you didn't get one. But your view sounds great, anyway. The bathroom animals tiles are really cute.

We love the boat to MK, too. I'm not sure why it is so nice, but it is. Maybe it is all that water and the views, too.

I hope they can give you an answer about the completion date for the stream.

My. Magic Your Way paperwork and luggage tags arrived in the mail yesterday. It's starting to feel so real now!!

Our dates are Aug 2-16. I'm so excited! Looking forward to spending 2 weeks in our favourite place with my 2 boys before they fly back to University.
