Well, main pool closed again today with cloudy water. Tried to walk on the nature trail and guess what...it's closed. Geyser not working. Still lots of construction on the splash pad and lots of planting going on. Hot tubs still closed. The villas pool and hot tub are open, but crowded as you might imagine.
The inside is beautiful, but I'm frustrated with the outside at this point.

Thank you for posting the picture of the Wilderness Lodge pillow! I ordered 1 last night for my husband. It will make a great Christmas present! We will be at the lodge in February but I just couldn't wait to get one!

I completely agree. I'm trying to feel happy and positive with things since I check in on Saturday, but I'm honestly irritated. I've never received any notifications from Disney that I should expect anything less than a pristine, not under construction resort. The beach and the hot tub situation annoy me. I just stayed at French Quarter in January while the pool was closed and I'm not looking forward to repeating the process. I would have switched hotels if I had known.

I certainly hope they get this all straightened out w/pool and hot tubs before we get there- because that will truly upset me and my family- we are truly looking forward to using both. We will be there in 12 days.

Most of the beach is closed off because that is where they put the construction materials and equipment. There is a section of beach open, though, with beach chairs and tables. You can watch Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant from the beach.

The nature trail down by the marina is closed because that is the road that the construction vehicles use to come into the construction area. But the nature trail that starts near the bus stop and follows the back road to Fort Wilderness is open, or should be.

I am so bummed to hear about the hot tub and the construction and the scaffolding. I was also totally under the impression that construction would be finished late November or I would have picked a different hotel. I'm thinking about seeing what's available for switching hotels. We enjoy the hot tub and we like things to look perfect at the resort. That's what we are paying so much for. Has anyone asked about the hot tub?

We're only staying one night on Sunday (Room Only) and going to MVMCP at night but was planning on spending the afternoon at the pool/boats/hot tub Sunday and Monday before check-out. Starting to think that maybe we should look at other monorail resort options as well or doing a continuing reservation at YC from Saturday night. We got a great deal on the room and love WL at Christmas time…wish they would have waited till January to do the construction

We've been lucky to see them launch from the beach at WL. Part of the beach is open so that's the perfect spot. Just look up and over towards the FW beach area. Hope you get to see it and happy travels.

Just adding on to Wood Nymph that the part of the trail that's closed is the part that starts behind the bicycle rental area. This is an unimproved trail that isn't for bicycles because it's very sandy. It's used for jogging/walking along Bay Lake. You can still access the concrete trail that bikes use. I rarely see others on the unimproved trail when I'm jogging. They don't spray back there so there are lots of flying insects, especially in the warmer months. The concrete trail is used by most guests and it's open - and they spray

The jogging trail is open, and that's where I ended up walking. I wanted to walk on the path nearer to the lake, and that's the one that's closed.

Refurb + basically. Redo the pool deck ,add a fence around the pool , refurb Trout Pass pool bar, add a splash pad where the little kids pool was , etc .
