I think I requested North Wing - Woods View -- I honestly did not request a view of the castle - that was a bit of pixie dust for sure!!!

But, I am sure if you asked them for a view of the castle in North Wing, they would know what you are talking about. The CL CM's were taking us to the room and said they had a suprise....and it was the view.

Stayed in the dvc one bedroom villa the room was in horrible shape hair dryer went up in flames burned wifes hair, room was dirty , bathroom hair still in tub.
will never stay again gave very bad revue in survey think this is below DVC standards for a DVC resort will never reco it to anyone

Online checkin completed this morning! In almost exactly 10 days from now our plane will be landing and we'll be on our way to the Lodge!

Posting this morning because job stress is at an all time high and I really needed to see my ticker and the countdown to staying at the most wonderful place ever.

I am sorry your stay was not as expected and disappointing - your experience is unusual as it is one of the most popular and beloved DVC resorts. It is good the problems were reported so it can be taken care of asap. Hope you spoke with housekeeping about the condition of the room & bathroom.

I will respectfully disagree that VWL has no real connection to the Resort ...the walkway is lovely, it is very peaceful...right near the bus stops and a short walk to everything in the Lodge. We loved VWL and thought they did a beautiful job in designing it.

The interior of VWL has wide beautiful hallways and lobby as well as cozy sitting areas. It is time for a refurb for the rooms, but that happens with every resort.

I would highly recommend the Villas at Wilderness Lodge - hopefully guests will read about the resort before booking and understand it is connected by a walkway....as is BCV and BLT.

We stayed at the WL last summer and loved it to death!!! it was quiet, rooms were awesome (we had a pool view) and best of all was the convienence of the boat to MK. I was on Davids time share site and we are looking to book a studio in the villas for december of 2013. I would love to see the resort during the holidays. Had anyone stayed in on of thier studios? It is just my wife and I...we dont need anything all that big. The pictures of this place during the holidays look amazing!

We've stayed in a VWL studio and Loved it! A warning though - there are no real views over at the Villas...mostly trees, a few studios look toward the pool and some toward a back road. We had a corner studio - the balcony was looking out at the pine trees, but the side window looked out at the pool, which we could also see to the side of the balcony.

It is so peaveful over there...and when the holiday decorations go up - it is breathtaking! The walk to the Villas is soooo pretty...and the Villas has it's own gorgeous lobby tree and the atrium decorations. The halls are wide and lovely. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

We always rent points when we stay DVC (have no desire to own) - we have rented through some long time DISers who advertise points for rent on the DIS or through The DV Rental Store...Paul is fabulous and so helpful.

DV Rental store is different from David's, but I assume the provide the same service? I rented points for our January trip from David's. So far, it's been hassle free. We really couldn't have afforded to take a trip in January if we hadn't gone the DVC route. Well - we could have, but we wouldn't have been spending it at AKL or WL. Since the resort we stay at is as important to us as anything else, I was really happy to find a way to go.
