Thanks so much to those who responded to my questions about the standard view rooms!! Very helpful!

If I wanted to request a quieter standard view room in the South Wing, for example, is the best method to call or email someone a week before our trip? Or should I wait until we arrive?

Thanks!!!!!

We feel it is best to call the reservations office with your requests anytime before a few days before you arrive. This way you know the request is in your file when the room assignor assigns the room locations, which we have heard can vary from a few days to a week or so before arrival.

From what we've seen there isn't a way to e-mail non CL requests, so calling is your best bet. There's no reason to wait. :thumbsup2

We are arriving at the WL tomorrow morning. :cheer2: It will be our first time trying a courtyard view. We've gotten woods view before but they were sold out for this last minute trip. I'll let you know what happens. :)

Good luck! If you get a chance, could you post a picture showing your view and the room #?

This may have been asked recently. Are there any reports about the refurb going on over at the DVC Villas? Has it started yet? Thanks for any info.

Two new (very cute) Clydesdale horses have just joined the Tri-Circle-D ranch family...

Two DAYS!! :banana::banana:

Hi all! We have a reservation for May 2-7 at Wilderness Lodge- woods view room. We were originally going To stay at the Contemporary, but we decided to switch to save $1,200 with the existing offer. We are going to be moving in May, so we can probably use that $1,200 elsewhere. :) I am going to try to get caught up on this thread. In the mean time, does anyone have any helpful info that they would like to share about the Wilderness Lodge??? The only other resort we have stayed at is the Poly. We will be traveling with a 5 year old and an 8 month old. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I better get to reading up on our new resort. :)

The 3-day weekend officially marked a 6-day weekend today. Do I hear 7?

Wow... That's awesome. When/why did they lose the 4 diamond luster and how did they earn it back?
I don't know how the honor is bestowed&or why it's removed:confused:

Glad you made it official.

Hope you've arrived safely and you're enjoying your Courtyard View which might look a little like this from a Bear Face room&

Welcome and I'll add your dates to our Log. When you're done with the first couple of pages of the thread, let us know if you have more questions.

In the meantime, I think it would be fun to go over to FW with your kids and maybe the 5-year-old could take a pony ride? Or maybe you could rent a boat or bikes. The Cub's Den offers afternoon activities and stop by VWL and take a look at the Carolwood Pacific room where they have a train display and board games. There's also a playground right on the beach and free marshmallow roast before the Movie on the Beach starts.

Thank you so much for the starting info! We are quite excited... We decided to let this be a surprise trip, so he won't know until the morning that we leave that we are going to WDW!

I was able to add tickets by typing in the number on the back. As long as the tickets you have don't, or haven't, expired, you should be good. You will have to assign each ticket to a MB. Once that is done though, you should be set with just the MB. Keep the tickets just in case there is an issue, though...
Thank you! That is very helpful.

I haven't done it but I think you enter the numbers on the back of the ticket. I'm not sure if you will assign the tickets to people or not. I bought our tickets by calling up and talking to a CM. The tickets got assigned "magically". :wizard: Each ticket has a serial number which appears along with a person's MagicBand in the section called "manage bands and cards" in your MDE account.

Thanks for the helpful info and have a wonderful trip!!
I have a FP + question. Is the 60 days out policy the same as the ADR 180 one in that you can do all the reservations for your trip on that day, or do I have to do each one when it's 60 days? I hope that made sense.
2 hour delay tomorrow! Hope the kids remember who I am! :)

We arrived this morning at 11:00am without any travel problems. We were met outside the door by a CM who looked totally frozen, since it was only about 50 degrees out. It took about five minutes for check in and our room was ready. I couldn't wait to see it. I was really happy that we finally got our open balcony. The sun was streaming in the balcony window when we walked in. It felt very warm and inviting, especially after the cold and dreary winter weather we have had this year. I just love the location. Our courtyard view room is located very close to the bear face rooms. We can see Bay Lake from the balcony. I'll post some view pictures tomorrow. And I will post the room number after we check out.

We had a really nice afternoon at MK. We spent most of our time back in Frontier land and Liberty Square. We ended up using the fp+ s I had scheduled weeks ago, and were glad we had them. Standby lines were at least thirty minutes.

Even though it was only about 57 degrees today, the sun felt great. Tomorrow will be colder. They have some of the plants covered up to protect them from the frost. The buffalo topiary just outside of the WL gate is covered up, as are a lot of the flower beds over at the GF.

Since we had a big lunch we decided to go to the Territory Lounge for dinner. I was able to knock two more things off my "to do" list, the cheese fondue and the berry cobbler. My husband really liked the cheese fondue. He would definitely have it again. We also had some edamame, which was good, and healthy, too. ;). Then came the best part, the berry cobbler. Oh my, was this good. We shared one but I think we could have each eaten our own. The ice cream was fantastic, the cobbler part had a tasty, crispy edge, and there were plenty of warm blueberries under it. Yum. Tomorrow we are planning to go to Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch just so I can have the Ooey Gooey Toffee dessert, but this berry cobbler is just as good, but in a "berry" different way.
;)

As we were seating in the Territory Lounge, full of fondue, edamame and berry cobbler, I told my husband that being at the WL just seems to make me happy. It was a long day which started with a 3:15am wake up and zero degree temperatures and was ending so nicely. We had just enough time to run back to our room for our coats before the fireworks started. Since it has been a busy day we turned in early. We can see the Electric Water Parade from our balcony, which is nice.

I'll see if I can find out if the VWL are being rehabbed and I will let you know. :)

For those who have stayed in a standard, woods, and a courtyard view, did it really make a huge difference for your trip? Have you ever booked standard and been upgraded before you got there or did you maybe ask for some pixie dust? If you asked how did you go about it? I've stayed in all three and then I enjoy the courtyard view I'm not so sure it made a difference in my stay. How do ya'll
feel?

What a great start to your vacation!!

I know how you feel about the sun streaming into the room from the balcony. I love it when we get our room early and you walk in and see that. :cloud9:

I am eager to hear if the WLV rehab has started.

We are off school today...frigid below zero wind chills and an expected blizzard. I think I will start my planning book, review all of my ADRs and try to make a plan for FP+ reservations as my window opens soon.

Counting down the days to our early April spring break.

Love reading about those of you at the lodge. Thanks to all who post while on vacation.

It was 42 degrees here when we woke up, so instead of heading off to the MK we decided to do the Lodge Tour. It was really interesting and well worth it. The guide talking about history as well as architecture. The group consisted of people over 50 years old, like us. And some of them had their own stories to share. I'm really glad we did the tour.

We saw people in the Territory lounge who had brought their food in with them to eat there. They had cartoons on the television sets instead of sports coverage. I guess it is alright to eat breakfast there.

Everybody has an opinion :rolleyes1

But I don't think there is any difference in quality of room or noise level between any of the types of rooms at WL. It is really about the view. The woods views are nice..I actually like them better then the courtyard view. But I don't think you will have any issue with noise.

Have Fun!

We are woods view floor 4 right now. Have seen wishes from balcony. Hear lots if boats and if wishes is late and u r in bed early it will wake you! We r right by elevator. Live WL!
