Either here on on the FW thread I saw a note that said marshmallows, campfires, and movies start about 1 hour earlier in the fall and winter.

I understand this has more to do with sunset and perhaps going off of Daylight Savings Time than the crowds/off-season. I don't know if it correlates exactly, but DST is from Mar. 9 to Nov 2, 2014 and begins again on Mar 8, 2015.

Last night sweet DD9 was hugging and playing with her now 7 year old Koda bear from WL Mercantile. He is getting quite smooshy and worn.

Then today she gave me a sweet Mother's Day note that she did in school. The question was "Write about a favorite memory with your Mom" and she recounted a story from the WL pool with DD6. DD6 brought home a large Humphrey that trip.

So I'm wondering, what resort-themed toys are available now at the Mercantile. Did the WL Lincoln Logs ever return? Are there plush bears (Koda, Humphrey), Bambi, Flower or Chip N Dale? Any other cute things for kids that you can only get at WL? Of course, photos are always appreciated!

We just booked our third trip to Disney and our first at WL! Booked a courtyard view bunk bed room with free dining 10/26-11/1. The wife and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary with our DS(12) and DD(9).
Seems like a top floor south wing has a really neat view, do those have bunk bed rooms? Do any of the bear face rooms have bunks? Thanks for creating such a wonderful thread ! The wife and I are so excited but haven't told the kids yet.

Hi we have been DVC owners a WLV since 2001. We will be back from December 28- January 3rd. Our first time ever being there for NYE.

Congratulations on booking at VWL. The resort activity calendar will show you any special activities that are going on, mostly for kids. The hyperlink is in POST 2 and the December calendar should be up the first week of December. There is also activity information in the first two pages of this thread.

Just booked our first WL stay for 12-16 Sep in a 1 bedroom in the villas. Doing a split stay with BWV. It's an anniversary trip (lucky number 7) and my big 4-oh so going deluxe for the first time. My bank account is already scared I may never go back ; )

If anyone has any extra pixie dust, throw it my way! We had to change our dates last month and WL rooms were unavailable for our new dates. I've been calling daily hoping a room would open without any luck. Of course, we will be happy in our current resort booking, but would love to experience WL! We have 30 days left before we arrive!

Oh, no! Well, don't give up. You can even check online. People cancel and change resorts/dates all the time. Something might even open up just before the 5-day mark when room-only reservations can be canceled without penalty.

We have changed our dates! We are going Nov 15th through the 21st now, thank you free dining! Can you change the dates for PrincessHeather92 as well? That's my niece

Hi everyone! Longtime lurker on this thread but first time poster. My boyfriend and I stated at WL last year for the first time and fell in love - I don't know if we could stay anywhere else! We are heading back this fall - October 26 - November 2. We had originally booked a standard view room but with the free dining promotion, we were able to score a courtyard view! Super excited about that.

So it's now official... DH's new supervisor changed our dates for our trip... and fortunately I've been able to move ADR's around... (even with the FD promotion!)

So can you change me from checking in 08/15 to 08/23 to checking in 09/12 through 09/20! Still staying CL, still at WL!!! THANK GOODNESS!!!

The benefit is I'm still going to DISNEY!!!

I'm new here, but jumping in on the posting! I love the memory maker because I'd otherwise not be in the pictures! I have a nice camera and my iPhone, but I'm the one who is always snapping away. My DH is sort of "photo challenged". He can't fill a frame to save his life. So I really love to have those great family shots. Yes, it's pricey, but these are my souvenirs. I love adding the mm pics to the photo books when I make ones of our trip. I find that there's a good mix of the stock photos, too, that really enhance my books (like generic ones of Mickey, the parades, etc).

My dates changed! When my parents decided to come, I changed to a deluxe room, and then my brother and his family decided to come as well. Our dates changed to June 5-12th!

The Deluxe rooms are beautiful. Did you make any requests?

Haven't stayed at WL since 2009 but will be there Sept 9-19 this year. Last time we were there a Photopass photographer was in the lobby. Can they still be found there or anywhere else on WL property?

I've seen them during Christmas and sometimes in the evening, but I'm not sure what their actual schedule is and if they even have one. After arrival, you could ask the concierge. I'll log your dates and welcome back to WL!

No, you can use either of the pools at WL but guests can not share pools between WL and FW.

On our transfer day we too will be going to DHS (checking into VWL). I was thinking since we aren't sure of when exactly we will be in our room, we would just go to Roaring Forks, we may even eat lunch in the park and then head back to the resort....we are open.

My DD, now 21 enjoyed her first WDW trip when she was 2 1/2. Let me tell you she remembers almost as much of her trip as DH and I do.

Love that you made a shadow box! Now you can make one for each trip she takes! That surely, along with videos n pics, will keep her memories alive! Sounds like you had a pretty nice Mother's Day!

Is north or south wing better? If someone can help me with the request process and wording I would appreciate it.

The North wing is close to Roaring Forks and the boat dock but would get the afternoon sun. The South wing would be close to the buses and would be in the shade in the afternoon. That would only matter if you plan to spend any time on your balcony.

If you don't have a real preference between North or South wing I'd leave that off so that you don't eliminate a Bear Face room by requesting a specific wing. You can call and add room requests any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival.
