Lemon or orange? I prefer the lemon, but I've had to try both. :drinking1 :lmao:

Hi
We got back last week from a 9 day stay at the BWV. Had standard 1 bdrm and requested lower floor, since last time we did a lot of walking the stairs because of the slow elevators. We were given a 1st floor room right off the quiet villa pool. with 2 sets of doors off the patio. Sweet! Wasnt sure we would like the location (or being on the ground level) but was still easy to get to fitness center, BW epcot and super fast to HS. And with frozen fireworks could see them above the community center from the pool area.

Next time we will explore more on the Inn side since we found more little nooks and crannies!

My DH, twin girls (age 10) and myself are planning a trip to stay at BWV!!

Long sorry short...we have been to Disney the last few Decembers. We always stay at POFQ. No trip this year. :( BUT we have a trip planned next November with a group of friends for our Anniversary ! (Staying at BLT )
I have been really sad not having a trip to plan this coming December...as luck would have it a client of my DH's owns at BWV and offered to rent us points!
We are planning a May trip. :cool1:
I know you all understand our excitement!
It's sort of like winning the lottery even though you are paying for it yet somehow, it's the same feeling! LOL
(Plus DH and I will be getting Annual Passes so we might as well put them to good use right? Disney Logic )

What I'd like to know...not having ever been to BWV is what's a good room location request ?? I'm trying to piece together in my head the layout of the resort.
We will be staying in a SV studio. We prefer to be close to an elevator..or the lobby to make entering and exiting a little easier.
(Please no flames ) My DH is a smoker so likes to be fairly close to a DSA.

I will be hanging around here doing all the research I can and I thank you all for taking the time to post! I just love this board!

Edited to add : WE ARE BOOKED ! April 30-May 9 BWV Studio Preffered View !!
The standard view rooms were booked and we would have had to switch rooms halfway through our trip so we decided to upgrade to the Preffered View !! Whooo Hoooo!
I'll add your dates to the log! This map shows all the DSAs (blue squares) and you could add to your room request that you'd like to be close to one.

Back at BWI! Yes, I am actually closer to WDW than my job, but in opposite directions. I think the view was a little better from my previous non balcony location, but it is still a nice view for standard. I was farther from the elevator last time, and one floor higher, so closer to the Boardwalk. I will be here about a week, no split stay, and dinner today will be something quick on the boardwalk so I can unpack and settle in for Epcot tomorrow.:thumbsup2
Hope you're having a great stay. Have you noticed lower crowd levels since everyone is back to school? Is that why you chose this particular week or was it just convenient to get off from work? They say there aren't any slow weeks anymore at WDW, but I would imagine the locals have a few favorites;)

FYI....
Allears . net has put up nice pics of the refurbed rooms.

I'm still not wild about them, but these pics make them look a little better than what we've seen before.
Maybe it's like the new rooms at the GF, which I doubted, but when we stayed there 2 weeks ago, they were absolutely gorgeous in person. They just do not photograph well.

Thank you for posting the link. AllEars also posted a video that purports to be of a 2014 rehabbed STD room, but the room is actually not a renovated room.

We just returned from WDW where we spent a week at BWV. I have fallen in love with this resort. I loved the location, I loved the hustle & bustle of the Boardwalk and the pool, I loved the decor, I loved my room (studio #5050) with it's perfect view of the DHS Fireworks. I want to go back now. Seriously. Someone send me back. :)
Wow, it's great you left the resort so satisfied. I hope you get to return soon.

Hope you have fun! Wish I was staying here like I did in 2011. We will be at OKW in 18 days.
There's always a BB;)

This was a preferred view. Awesome view of the Luna Park pool and DHS. We watched the fireworks from our balcony perfectly. The only downfall is the noise from the afternoon pool party but it was nothing two earplugs couldn't fix! :thumbsup2

To clarify: Room #5050
Thanks for your review.

Yay! It's good that you prepared Anita for your crazy friend by sharing stories!

This will be interesting. I hope you kids behave - I'm not worried about your grandkids.

Of course I will. How great that you have two trips so close together. Not much time to get homesick:thumbsup2

Glad you loved it. Have you considered booking a cash reservation with a nice discount?

WHOA there! Let me make sure I've got this right: You're staying 46 nights at WDW? And, you're staying 18 of those nights at BWI?:faint::confused3:listen:

What a great family reunion and I'll add you dates!

I am planning a trip for my Birthday Week! Jan 31st through 2/6/15. I was able to score through an RCI exchange. I have always wanted to stay at BWV as Epcot is my favorite park.

I have been working on my ADR and decided the best place to watch the Super Bowl would be at the ESPN Club. Called and made a VIP reservation for the Super Bowl! Checked a few times for a Wishes Desert Party Reservation and did not see one until yesterday! So now I will have one more thing checked off of my bucket list.

Traveling solo this time as the children are all grown now. So looking forward to this trip!

My reservation shows "Deluxe Studio BWV" is this a step up from the Standard Studio? TIA

Just booked our July 17-27, 2015 Disney Vacation! Super excited about staying at the BWI! Did a quick trip down this past summer and stayed at ASMu and after the first 15 minutes into our MK day decided that we were coming back next summer!

I think it's a marketing ploy. I own at Boardwalk Villas, and all studios are "deluxe". Now it is possible that RCI somehow separated out those studios which have a 'Standard' view vs. those that have either a 'Boardwalk' or 'Pool/Garden' view, but from a DVC perspective "Deluxe Studio" is the category name. I would be more interested in if there's anything that says 'Boardwalk', 'Pool' or 'Garden' -- without any of those terms, I'd expect it to have the 'Standard' view, regardless of what the word Deluxe might imply. (I usually stay in a standard view at BWV -- if that's what you end up with, you'll have a very nice view of the green lawn at the front of the resort. "I" think it's pretty, plus it's kind of fun to sit on the balcony and watch people going to and fro, whether to their cars or to the bus.)

Checked in on Saturday and having fun! Booked a 1 bedroom pool or garden view and we got ground floor (which I requested) and can see the Villa's pool out our door. Hasn't rained today, but did so the past 2 days. Not complaining 'cause I'm in Disney, just reporting. Crowds not too bad. Did Magic Kingdom on Saturday after check-in and DHS yesterday. Animal Kingdom this morning for hubby and I had pool time! Using a rollator to help with my walking and have my knee braces. People have been so friendly and helpful! Have never stayed here before, but would highly recommend it!

Off the wall question. Is there an elevator that goes from the lobby's floor to the Boardwalk level at BWI? We have always left the lobby and gone down the outside stairs but we'll be traveling with someone with mobility issues.

Yes there is! It's not in the main part of the lobby- it's close to the stairs near the Bellevue Lounge that go out to the Boardwalk. This elevator only goes from lobby level to the Boardwalk level. If you're standing about to go down the stairs to the Boardwalk, the elevator is behind you to the left. Hope that helps!!!

Thanks. My reservation states deluxe pool/garden view. Of course no matter where I am housed it will be great because I will be on the boardwalk!
