Hope you're having a great stay. Have you noticed lower crowd levels since everyone is back to school? Is that why you chose this particular week or was it just convenient to get off from work? They say there aren't any slow weeks anymore at WDW, but I would imagine the locals have a few favorites;)

I have been visiting at this time for many years. It is less crowded, but the weather can be unpredictable though. I also like January and late April/May. Summer is just so hot here that it makes the parks miserable. Looking forward to visiting the BWI again in December!

We're booked for 12/7-12/14 Deluxe Club! Got the Late Fall discount. Crowd levels have been low for this week in the past.

We have a 1 bedroom villa booked for Sept 18-22. We're basically staying there for my adult developmentally handicapped brother so he can be right on the Boardwalk. We were lucky enough for my CM to get a cast rate however, it requires her to stay in the room with us. Of course, we're loving that part, but it means she'll have to sleep in the King with my husband and I unless we can get a cot setup in the bedroom as my brother will be in the sleeper sofa. Anyone know if this is allowed? Would there be room for it in the bedroom? When it said sleeps 4, I guess I just thought the bedroom would have 2 queens.

If the bedroom had 2 queens then the villa would sleep 6 (four in the bedroom and two on the sleeper sofa). ;)

I don't believe they have cots, but I have never requested one so I don't know for certain. You could take an air mattress. A twin air mattress would fit in the bedroom, but I'm not sure about anything bigger. You could fit a large air mattress in the living area, but it sounds like you want to reserve that area for your brother.

I'm sure someone here who is much more knowledgeable will come along and chime in! :goodvibes

Thanks JCEMOM, it's no big deal either way. The CM is our daughter, so it's not going to bother any us out to sleep together. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone else has run into that. :)

DVC villas will not provide cots or rollaways in the DVC villas. You can bring your own airbed and use that, but DVC villas do not provide any extra bedding like sheets, pillows, etc.

All DVC one bedroom villas have a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. OKW, BLT and AKV also have room for a twin sized sleeper chair. BWV doesn't have room for the sleeper chair.

Long-time lurker here! Subscribing to this thread. We will be staying at BWI 5/23-5/28. This will be our first DELUXE resort stay & I'm so excited! :yay:

I've attempted to read the thread in order to answer all of my questions...honestly, I tried. But I'm completely cross-eyed and exhausted now, so I'm asking for advice on dining at BW. Our party consists of a hungry DH and a growing teenage boyfriend of DD. I know there isn't a food court at this resort. Any suggestions as to the best, most convenient place to fill these guys up in the mornings via counter service? We do have the dining plan, and I'm sure I'll make at least one table service reservation for breakfast. Just wondering what our best option would be for the other days. I love Grumpy and Dopey with all my heart, but I can't be near them if they haven't eaten well in the mornings. ;)

DH liked the quick service restaurant at the Beach Club for breakfast. I'm not talking about Beaches and Cream. There is a small restaurant off the gift shop.

We love the Beach Club Marketplace. Boardwalk Bakery is also good for a quick breakfast, and Picabu at the Dolphin has a full breakfast menu.

I am planning a trip for my Birthday Week! Jan 31st through 2/6/15. I was able to score through an RCI exchange. I have always wanted to stay at BWV as Epcot is my favorite park.

I have been working on my ADR and decided the best place to watch the Super Bowl would be at the ESPN Club. Called and made a VIP reservation for the Super Bowl! Checked a few times for a Wishes Desert Party Reservation and did not see one until yesterday! So now I will have one more thing checked off of my bucket list.

Traveling solo this time as the children are all grown now. So looking forward to this trip!
Sounds like a great plan and I'll log your dates. Enjoy your solo trip:thumbsup2

Just booked our July 17-27, 2015 Disney Vacation! Super excited about staying at the BWI! Did a quick trip down this past summer and stayed at ASMu and after the first 15 minutes into our MK day decided that we were coming back next summer!
Great decision and I'll log your dates, too:thumbsup2

Checked in on Saturday and having fun! Booked a 1 bedroom pool or garden view and we got ground floor (which I requested) and can see the Villa's pool out our door. Hasn't rained today, but did so the past 2 days. Not complaining 'cause I'm in Disney, just reporting. Crowds not too bad. Did Magic Kingdom on Saturday after check-in and DHS yesterday. Animal Kingdom this morning for hubby and I had pool time! Using a rollator to help with my walking and have my knee braces. People have been so friendly and helpful! Have never stayed here before, but would highly recommend it!
Thank you for posting LIVE! I hope you're still having a great vacation. Do you know if the room rehab ended yesterday as scheduled?

Yay for Deluxe CL and those great BWVs! I'll put you in the BoardWalk Bulletin.

:welcome: to the DIS and the BWI/BWV thread! Glad you came out of lurkdom to post here.

I know you asked about CS, but Club Level is also a GREAT way to grab a quick breakfast. That's my #1 suggestion for a nice, convenient breakfast just steps from your room. You could even consider swapping the DDP for CL someday. CL would provide endless amounts of food and beverages for your party of hungry guys.

Thanks for adding me, wdwkook. Love all the information you have in this thread along with great photos! Well done!

Thank you WDWKOOK for maintaining this tread.
So much useful information!
We are stepping out of our BLT comfort zone, and have managed to get a 2 bed Villa at BWV for our upcoming stay(s) in February.
We will be at BWV from 7-9 February 2015 and then 2 more weeks from 13-27
February 2015, before and after cruise.
We have never stayed here or in the EPCOT area, but are exited to try something new.

It makes sense to stay this long when traveling from so far away.
But having put all the eggs in one basket (so to say), hopefully we will love it. The better half decided a split stay was out of the question :)
If not, we will make new memories anyhow.
From this tread at least, people seem to really love this resort.

Looking forward to winter now and seeing more of Epcot and HS.

My family will be staying at the BWI Villas in November. We're very excited, but I have heard that the rooms are not in the best condition. Can anyone share any information on this? We're staying in a studio. Any recommended requests before online check-in? Thanks!

What a wonderful itinerary! I'll log your dates and I hope you'll post here about your wonderful trip.

My in-laws, who live in FL, just arrived in Scandinavia. They are in Sweden now and will arrive in Bergen tomorrow then Lofthus and Oslo, Norway and on to Denmark and Finland. I am so envious!! I would love to cruise someday through your magnificent fjords.

It can be hard changing from a favorite resort, but you will probably get used to the change quickly. You'll be able to walk right over to Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe for a Rullekake whenever you feel homesick!

I have always wondered, is Laila perfume also popular in Norway or mostly just at Epcot? It is my favorite perfume, but I suppose if you smell it all the time back home, you tire of it?

My family will be staying at the BWI Villas in November. We're very excited, but I have heard that the rooms are not in the best condition. Can anyone share any information on this? We're staying in a studio. Any recommended requests before online check-in? Thanks!
:welcome: to the DIS and the BWV/BWI thread! We're honored to have your first post here. I can't answer your BWV room condition question, but hopefully someone who has stayed recently will give you their opinion:listen:

We were at BWV in June and our room was in good shape.

Hi WDW, you should someday visit, everyone should once in their life see Norway from a ship. It is the only way to truly experience Norway (as i see it). We are a grand total of 5 million people here so there is ample room.
The west coast (where Bergen is) is the most spectacular, but also where it rains most, so one have to be prepared for rain and wind, but when the sun breaks out it is beautiful.
Btw, your parents are in luck as the weather tomorrow looks to be on its best side, sunny and 18 degrees Celsius, very nice for this time of year. The view from the top is spectacular.
This is the webcam, who knows you might spot them :-)

As for Laila, Geir Ness is of course know here, although it is available it is rare to find. And definitely not something I smell often.

I hope your parents have a wonderful experience, and Lofthus of all places :-) i guess family is involved... It is only 45 minutes from where we live.

Where is the nearest liquor store to BWI? Not beer and wine, real liquor? I know the Screen Door has small bottles but I mean off property.
