Well, we booked! :hyper: We'll be there Sept 23 to Oct 3rd! I hope I won't find it too soon after our last trip in January... but I wanted to bring my kid once more before she turned into a paying three year-old ;) Last time at BLT we loved walking to Magic Kingdom every night after the nap, but the food options were lackluster... I don't think this'll be the case this time! Food & Wine festival, baby! :cool1:

We did the same thing last year, went in Sep and then again in Jan before our daughter turned 3. Not having to buy her tickets or separate meals at Character dining was a huge plus. We are headed back down in Sep again before our annual passes expire. She is now 3 so our free days are over, but for a kid I figure there can never be too much disney.

I know if I read through all these posts I'll probably find an answer to this question but I'm being lazy:)
On the club level standard rooms are there any king size beds? If there are any would they be garden or boardwalk view? We are returning to the BWI Sept.23 to Sept.30 staying standard CL and my first choice is boardwalk view but I would love a King bed. I have never had much luck with room requests, even though we go at slower times of the year, and was just wondering if they even have boardwalk view king beds in the CL.

Can anyone tell me what the options are at online check-in? I heard that some studios have daybeds and I'd love to have one, I feel like it'd be roomier than with a pack and play stuck somewhere. Otherwise, what should I request for a standard view studio?

Okay, changed my room preference request from King bed, to 5th floor with Epcot view! :) Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed. LOL Thanks again WDWKook!

I am staying at BWI for the first time in August. I have a standard view room and would like to put in a request for "Epcot" view. This is a silly question but what number do you call? Is it the same as the reservation number? TIA!

Yes, I just called the reservation number. Be warned though, I called last night at about 10:10 their time, and was on hold until just after 11:00. :( But, it only took a minute for her to update my request once she answered. :)

i know that some where on the disboards was a link of the BWI layout with all the room numbers

of course, now I can't find it....does anyone know of a layout of the BWI that shows room numbers?

*nevermind* I found it at touringplans.com.....

Is there really only that one elevator bank on the BWI side? if you are all the way down where it wraps around by the quiet pool, there is no other elevators over there? just stairs?

We've been back now for about a week and thought I'd pop in and give a little mini review of our stay at BWI. This was our first time staying there and we really liked the resort. We already knew we loved the Epcot Resort area because we stayed at BC and really its a tough choice between the two as to which is our favorite.

...

The CMs were mostly helpful and friendly and the nighttime entertainment is always fun. For TS in the area we ate at Captains Grille (probably the best meal of the trip, it was a very pleasant surprise) at the Yacht Club and Breakfast at Cape May Cafe which was also really good..

Thanks for the review and glad to hear you enjoyed the trip. I like those two restaurants and meals as well. I've been meaning to try breakfast at Captain's Grill, but haven't made it over there yet.

We were all the way down by the ESPN club and yes, there is only one elevator. We had to walk all the way to the center of the Inn and get the elevator off of the lobby. When we arrived on our floor, Mousekeeping was near the elevator when we got off on 5. We asked which direction we needed to go and she pointed to the right and said 'go about a mile that way'. We thought she was kidding but trust me, it seemed like a mile!!! By the end of the week I was getting use to it but his time I requested a room near the elevators!!!

We did online check in and requested close to the elevators and Boardwalk view. We knew the view was highly unlikely but our room location was perfect. We were in 2296 so right on the same floor to head out to the buses and just around the corner from the elevator to go down to the Boardwalk. The view from our balcony was really nice as well. We overlooked a very well manicured courtyard area and could even see some fireworks through and over the trees at night.

So it sounds like you didn't get a Boardwalk view? I've asked for the same thing, elevators and BW view. But I really want the view!

In one of the recent DVC annual meetings they admitted they made a huge mistake by only having one set of elevators on each side (Inn and Villas). But I think structurally it would be a big difficulty to try to add them now.

Great Thread!! My family LOVES BWI!!! 160 days and counting!!!Been staying here for 6 years now and fall in love with it more and more every time we go. We stay in club level and the cast members are more like family then cast members to us. We've stayed other places but our hearts belong to BWI!!!

I have to agree about the cast members!! Just to let you know, Janice has moved back to Massachusetts!! She has been a good friend of mine for many, many years and went back to be with her children and new grandchild!! I will miss seeing her, but maybe now we can do our girls only trips again!!

Thanks for the update on Janice, a great CM, to be sure. We are happy for her as she continues her journey.

All the best. :thumbsup2

You know, you could do a BWI/WL split;). But, I assume since you're close by, you make many trips in a year, so splits aren't really necessary?

I guess it's sort of a split stay - it's just split by the months of July and August! ;) Yes, I probably get there a little too often (if such a thing is possible), but even being close by, I would rather stay overnight than do day trips.

I usually prefer to stay in the Epcot resorts area during cooler weather, because it's so conducive to walking there - walking to parks, walking to resorts, etc. But I got a good rate and just couldn't turn it down . . .
