And I forgot I have a question, is the refurb also going on at BWV? Or is it only at the Inn? Thanks!

We will be at BWI in July and hope to return for a long weekend in November. Do you happen to know if there were black out dates in November for the Bounce Back offer?

Bounce back calendar in room shows 11/7, 11/8 and 11/22 to 11/30 as blackout dates along with 12/01 to 12/10 and 12/24 thru the end of the year.

Will that view also give me a view of parts of Illuminations?

we had a studio room on the Villas side.we couldn't get Baoradwalk view, only Preferred/pool view. We requested "village Green". that is the area not directly facing the boardwalk, but facing the grassy area in front of the lobby. (above Wyland gallery and the alleyway'entrance to the Luna pool);

we were assigne 2nd floor (which would have been VERY convenient, only steps from the lobby and gift shop and 1 flight down to the pool) while waiting we looked at the area. there is no 1st fllor in the village green section (we really want a balcony, NOT a patio). BUT! the 2nd fllor balconies are all recessed. and really recessed.

many of the BW view 2nd floor balconies are enclosed, but at least you can stand and lean on the railing and look out. the 2nd floor of the village green area are really "set back".

so I went back and asked, and they switched us to a 5th floor room. it was early, like about 10 am. they told us it would be a while before the room was ready. it was, not till a little after 4. (I know, I know, 4 is check in time. I shoudl expectnothing earlier. when staying on cash, we almost always get our room earlier, but if not, we always choose to wait a few hours for the better room.... relax by the pool.

what a great decision!!! I tell you what a great room! we could watch illuminations from our balcony every night!!! (well, ok, the top part of illum.) and could watch the people going back and forth from the lobby, bridal parties, entertainers, etc.) it was only steps to the elevator and the lobby or pool. and jsut down the hal was a littel balcony overlooking the luna pool if you wanted to hang out there a bit. and from there is where I watched the 25th anniversary fireworks a DHS!!!!

ok, did I mention that we really scored on a great room location?????

I understand that Village Green is mostly studios, it's a greatchoice if you can't get a dead on Boardwalk view.

(te only bad point was our blacony had no cover, so it rained a couple nights, but we couldn't use the balcony.. while others did have cover (that's hit or miss. if you look around the resort, some have cover, some don't)

but,. back to the point.. a great view of illuminations!

I've been so busy finishing up with school and dealing with graduation announcements and event planning that I've completely forgotten until just a little while ago that I can now take part in the SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!! :
BTW, I choose to use red because my school colors are scarlet and grey and I will be wearing red robes at graduation. Super excited! (As if you couldn't tell...)

Congratulations on graduation, the new position, and the Disney vacation.

Always cool when you get that extra special room or view.

On Saturday May 17th, I will be graduating from the great University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a minor in Secondary Education. I am also very fortunate to have already signed a letter of intent to hire at a local high school that I very much wanted to be hired at. The following morning, I will board a plane with my husband and his sister, who will be celebrating her first visit, to DisneyWorld! We have 5 nights booked with our DVC at BWV, 5 nights booked at AKV, then we will fly to Washington, DC where we have 3 nights booked at the Willard InterContinental. It is finally setting in and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! BTW, I choose to use red because my school colors are scarlet and grey and I will be wearing red robes at graduation. Super excited! Congrats on being so close to graduation and disney. Hope u enjoy DC. I've lived here my entire life and I love, love, love it

I'm curious that with the BWI CL lounge closed now are the cottage suite rooms still available? I wouldn't think that they are affected by the construction work going on in the lounge area but they do have access to the lounge offerings so maybe open at a reduced rate? Just curious.

On site now, club level the last week.

Have seen light work on the fourth floor non club rooms.

Every morning the doors are open and small crews are removing items and prepping surfaces, no major rehab yet.

Can hear work on five, light tapping etc

Received a notice this morning in room about rehab noise and work in progress starting now.

Inn was stripped of window plants today, any items non essential are gone.

We leave tomorrow, last guests club level leave Sunday.

Innkeepers are being reassigned for the rehab, some with limited hours.

Hope the cappuccino machine returns, lots of people upset about that.

Back again in Sept, got bounce back for my dates.
What a great update and thank you for posting. I'm going to add your post to the rehab update in POST 1. Glad you already have another trip planned in just a few months:thumbsup2

How exciting - congrats! This is sure to be a time in your life you'll never forget. Enjoy every minute (and book a Bounceback;)).

Good question. This is just a guess, but the cottages probably aren't available for booking since none of the other CL rooms are available for booking. There are 5 Deluxe rooms that aren't on the same floor as the lounge and those can't be booked so I'm going to assume none of the CL rooms can be booked for the month the lounge is closed:confused3

Happy Mothers Day to Kook and the rest of the moms out there! :):):)
Thanks, psac! KOOK didn't have to COOK so it's a good day:thumbsup2

Also- do all the rooms have balconies?

Hi...my hubs and I will be staying at BWI for the first time this November,
and I'd also like to know if all rooms have balconies. We have a standard
view booked.

Thanks!

Sounds perfect!!

There are literally one or two rooms in the whole resort without balconies. If you got one of those unlucky rooms, I would IMMEDIATELY ask for a room change! So in effect, the answer is yes. :thumbsup2

Checking out tomorrow 5/12/14. Have leftover Smirnoff Ice Mango, Raspbrry, Green Apple, Original.

Also 10 or more bottles of water. I can leave it at Bell Services if anyone is interested. Lemme know.

I have yet another question! Usually when we travel to Disney, we end up renting a car to get to the hotel and drive to the parks etc. Mainly to avoid the crowded buses, and have the ease of coming and going when we please. We have always stayed at larger, value/mods in the past.

I guess I'm asking - how is the bus service? And Ferry? Obviously we can get to Epcot on foot easily enough - but just wondering about getting around for ADRs, early park ones especially. Do the buses serve other hotels as well? Jut trying to decide on whether or not the car rental is necessary this time. Thanks!

You always share the busses with Swan and Dolphin, and for some rare off-peak times they also share with BC and YC, but that seems to be very rare nowadays. The boat to DHS usually works well, or a lot of people just walk there (we always just take the boat). So the only bus would be to AK and MK, and with MK driving is difficult because you have to park at the TTC and take the monorail or ferry anyway. Downtown Disney is terrible by bus, but people say driving there is terrible now, too, because of the parking lot construction.

So really I would consider a car mostly if you would use it in the evenings for dinners at other resorts or something like that...?

We just use Disney transportation. I can walk to DHS as well, although, it is closer from DVC side. And, I would not want to drive to MK (park, tram or ferry). As for the other bus trips, if the weather is ok and we are not too tired, if the bus first stops at the Swan, then we will exit and walk the Boardwalk.

As for ADR(s), since there are so many good restaurants on the Boardwalk, BC, YC, and Swan & Dolphin, we'll schedule the majority of them there and walk/ boat to them. For the ones we want to travel too, we'll take the bus and give extra time. We've also found that it is real easy to walk to DHS and catch a direct bus from there to whatever resort.

Just booked BWV standard view for August 10th through 15th. First time staying at the villas, usually stay at the Inn. Can't wait!

What is the truth with bus service to MK and AK? I heard stories...should I hope for the best but expect the worst?

Probably a good idea. Honestly, most of the time it isn't too bad. But we've had some long waits and crowded busses. When they finally come, the crowd has built and you generally have the last people there charge up to the front of the bus.
