Has anyone stayed off site within walking distance of Disneyland recently to provide a recommendation? I am seeking a clean place, not the cheapest room, but not the most expensive. Quiet is important. Thanks for your time. :flower3:

Everyone seems to like this hotels that are withing walking distance.

1. Hojo
2. Candy Cane Inn
3. Jolly Roger
4. Best Western Main Gate

My favorite thus far has been the Tropicana. It had a nice pool area, pool was small but adequate, hot tub was very large. The staff was great and our room was spotlessly clean. They have a free (minimal) continental breakfast and each room has a frig and microwave. Its less than a five minute walk to the parks. This motel is the second one in from the crosswalk on Harbor. I have also stayed at the Howard Johnson's and liked it as well but it was a bit further walk. It had lovely grounds and a very nice pool area as well as large rooms. You can get the Entertainment Book rate there, I believe you might have to call the hotel directly to get that particular rate.

Love HOJO, walk not too far, big rooms, great entertainment rate.

I have stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn a few times as well as the Tropicanna once. These are probably my two favorite hotels that are within walking distance. Desert Inn & Suites is OK, but I prefer Best Western over that. Both the Best Western and Tropicanna seemed pretty quiet when I went!

Ha- it's funny how everyone has different favorites.

Ours are:

1. Best Western Park Place Inn (ask for a room, top floor towards the back- it's super quiet and still a very short walk) It's clean and the closest!

2. The Carousel Inn & Suites- clean, and still super close.

We've stayed at HOJO's, and while it is clean, and nice, it is too far of a walk for our family when we all have tired legs. I also like to go back to our room quite often and it is just not close enough for me for that.

Carousel Inn and Tropicanna for us, Howard Johnson is popular and has a loyal following but a little further to walk to DL and back.

Love the Candy Cane Inn. They are within walking distance and have their own shuttle. Would not recommend Jolly Roger. Has been a few years since we stayed there but yuck!

Have not stayed at Best Western Park Place inn but might try the mini suit on next stay.

If you want quiet, I'd recommend Candy Cane Inn. It's an easy walk (although farther than some of the properties right across the street like Carousel, Park Place Inn and Tropicana) and it has a shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour.

The rooms are very nice, and the breakfast is better than most of the others.

The grounds are lovely, and it tends to be a more peaceful place than the squished motels across from the park entrance.

I would recommend the Fairfield in by Marriot or the Best Western Park Place Inn. I also echo the idea that if you stay at the Best West. Park Pl. ask for top floor and to the back. We stayed there in April and were very happy with no noise. We have stayed at the Fairfield twice and the BWPPI twice, both were very satisfactory. You can't beat the location of the BWPPI. Have fun!

:thumbsup2 Hi we spent 3 nights at the Candy Cane Inn last week, and can not say enough good things....new pillow top beds, nice fluffy towels, plenty on the free am food, the shuttle service was great, the workers very friendly and helpful. they were out cleaning the pool and hot tub every am. if we ever go we will stay there, didn't here anyone in the next room, we used the laundry and 2 workers came in and asked if everything was working fine..super service.

I have never been able to get ressie's here without having to get multiple rooms.

I just got back from Disneyland I stayed at the Tropicana and really enjoyed it. The continental breakfast definately wasnt bad and it was super close and super clean. It was also very quiet. I had the 3rd floor as I called and asked for the recommendation and it was fantastic. The pool is good and the hot tub is large and wonderous at the end of the day when you want to relax.

We love the Candy Cane Inn! Comfy rooms, close to the park, and the staff was so friendly and helpful!

Best Western PP Inn- can't beat the location aside from the GC, and a room near the back was quiet enough. Our first time there, and we'd reccommend it for sure!
