With the onsite hotels being so expensive during holiday breaks, we might stay offsite. We are looking for something close, so we can walk back and relax at a nice pool. We don't have kids, so we don't need all the slides etc. We love the GC pool, so we are looking for something like that, maybe on a smaller scale. Any ideas???

Not sure you will find a nice adult type pool within walking distance. Most of the motels on Harbor across the street have basic square pools in the parking lot. I have heard that Hotel Menage has a nice pool and bar, but I have never stayed there. It is on the other side of the freeway, probably a 15-20 minute walk from the parks. Places like the big Hyatt, Marriott, ect...will probably have a nicer type pool, but may not be walking distance!

Good luck!

An adult type pool within walking distance.... that would be The Hotel Menage. A lovely place we have stayed several times now.

Woah- I love it! Plus the pool is open 24 hours!! And there is a thatched roof tiki bar! I just checked rates for my December stay and they are only 60ish bucks more than the Alpine Inn, formerly the cheapest one I could find within walking distance. So now I have potentially two cancellations to make, for a December trip...

Does anyone know if they offer bag storage?

If they charge a deposit to your credit card when you book online?

If the "no cancellations allowed" policy listed on their reservations page is adhered to and what the penalty is if you must cancel?

I asked the hotel via email so we'll see how their response time is for the average tourists repetitive questions, haha!

I would also check out the Anabella. It is on the corner of Katella and Disneyland Dr. I have not personally stayed there, but I have considered it and I have a few friends who ONLY stay there. The pictures on their website don't seem to do it justice, so check out Trip Advisor. They have two pool areas, both look really nice. It is walkable, you would go down Disneyland Dr. and cut through the Grand and DTD to get to the Esplanade. Also see the recent review from disneytouristblog: http://www.disneytouristblog.com/anabella-hotel-review/
Good luck!
