I think it would be important to find out what's clogging up your ear. If it's excessive fluid buildup, that would probably be controlled with antihistamines. If it's excess wax buildup, it may need to be removed, preferably by a doctor. At any rate, if using the drops hasn't relieved the problem in a couple of days, I'd suggest a call to the doctor.my ear has been clogged with what i'm guessing is wax drops seems to help a little but when i wake up i n the morning ear is clogged again any advise on what to do
O.K. this is going to sound weird but here goes. Use a water pick on the lowest setting. I told you. I get constant ear infections when diving because I get excessive ear wax build up at certain depths. I use peroxide after every dive but it if builds up too much, the old water pick works. Do NOT do this on anything but the most gentle cycle and it helps if you've used the peroxide first to kind of loosen it up. It might take a few trys. If it's sinus drainage, good old sudafed. If it hurts at all, get to the doctor, you might have an infection. Good luck.
I've done the exact same thing with a water-pik and it works.
I didn't recommend it because I'm not sure if it's 100% safe, but I've never had any issues doing it.
You can get the little kits at any pharmacy/Wal Mart that has wax softener and a rubber bulb to irrigate you ear. That's always worked for me.
But if you're having any pain related to your ear, see a doctor- you don't want to mess with an infection.
Sudafed if it's fluid. ENT if it's wax. And don't ever dance around in front of the mirror with q tips in your ears. Very dangerous for your eardrum if someone walks in and the door hits the q tip and jams it into your ear. Just some, like, general advice.![]()
The vacuum thing with the needle scared me!Probably not safe but if you use the low setting and nothing but water it shouldn't do any damage. I've had the doctor us a similar method, pour peroxide in, have me wait then come in and squirt water in with a gun like thingy. I've also had them vacuum it out, just yuck.
