We stayed at BLT and SSR's treehouse villas last week and noticed that all the clocks were 15 minutes fast.

Both times the day we were leaving housekeeper knocked on the door at 10:45am (11AM on the unit's clocks) asking when were we leaving.

I wonder if the clocks being off was meant as an "aid" to get people out on time.

More likely the people in the unit before you set them that way :upsidedow Never encountered any rooms with the clocks off.

Those sneaky Mousekeepers! :goodvibes

Sounds plausible to me. We've had a couple of experiences of Mousekeeping being "eager" to get in our room as we've started to depart -- once before 9am.

Happened to us also, made me kinda mad actually. I would bet they set the clock fast to give them a little more time to clean the room. I always check the clock as soon as i go into a hotel room. Some times they set the alarms to ring at 2am, i assume as a "joke"...

We were at BLT last week and we did not get out of our villa till 11:35am and no one came knocking.

The bedroom clock was fast, but not the clocks in the living area.
:):):)

My guess is, nobody knows how to change the time on those iHome thingies. If the time were wrong on a regular alarm clock, a guest would easily adjust it.

If it were intentional, wouldn't they have changed all of the clocks in the villa? I remember a clock in the kitchen at BCV. (Probably the microwave.)

We were at okw last month and the clock was a few hours off. We couldn't figure out how to change it, housekeeping didn't know how to change it, and neither did a service guy who came to fix our shower.

We don't know how to change the clocks, either. I ended up adjusting the alarm accordingly. :confused3

I noticed the 15 minute thing on my last trip also. That was at both SSR and AKV-Kidani. Actually - VB too! Seemed a little too coincidental to have been previous guests........

I've never had housekeeping knock on my door before 11. My advice - use your "do not disturb" sign. Works like a charm.

P.S. I also don't know how to adjust the time on the iHome units.

Yes, those iHomes are a pain. Almost every time we check in the clock is off by a significant amount. If for some reason it comes unplugged from the power cord it switches to battery back-up, and can run slow or fast. It still runs unplugged so a guest might not be aware it is not properly plugged in. There is a plastic plate in the back that must be unscrewed to get to the time adjustment buttons.

I believe you are giving housekeeping too much credit if you think they are messing with them.

Do you need a screwdriver to do this?

If yes, maybe we need to keep screwdrivers in our Owners Lockers.

We were there last month when the time changed and we couldn't figure out how to change it either. We had a vm stating that housekeeping would change it if we didn't but they never did.:confused3 We didn't use the alarm and used our watches and cell phones.

I can't stand those new iHomes. We ended up having Mousekeeping bring us a normal clock radio last fall because no one could figure out how to change the time on that thing. At least now I know what to look for to try to change it the next time.
