Clocks go forward tonight...

Okay, so tell me. The time tomorrow will be BST? Is that correct? Today it is GMT and tomorrow will be BST? I'm so easily confused, Sam. You know that :teeth:

Gosh, as I understand it today's 12 noon GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) (ie Saturday) will be tomorrows (it Sunday's) 1pm.

Don't we Brits like to confuse everyone?

Are we the only nation than changes between winter time and summer time?

What is BST?

I thought it was the other type of time. I'm not all that bright about these things.

So the time is always GMT?

We change our time in the fall and the spring here in the states. Spring it goes ahead an hour and in the fall it goes back an hour. I've never understood why we do that

Here I think it's something to do with farming - it means it's lighter in the mornings.

Last year, just after I found these boards, I was confused as the clock at the bottom of each page said it was showing GMT although it was actually showing BST. It seems OK this year but maybe it will change when the US begin their daylight saving time. I suppose I'll find out in a week.

Pegasus - BST = British Summer Time.

Seems like from the above article the US caught on to the idea from us! Particularly interesting is the paragraph at the end about Hawaii, Arizona and Indiana - how confusing must that be!!

  I'm even more confudalised now, Astrid (but then we know that doesn't take much;) ;) ).

I think I've sorted all the clocks out now . . . but there's always one tricky little devil that gets forgotten:D

Kath - so yes I guess you are right we are now on BST not GMT ;)

Deb - I had to do the car for Paul - he's such a technophobe - although he did manage to do the cooker clock but I try to avoid the cooker ;)
