Rae made a comment in another thread about how she brings an illuminated alarm clock with her - I didnt' want to hijack that thread with my question, so here's another silly question from me!

ARE there clocks in the room? Do these clocks have an alarm? I realize I can do the wake up call, but I have this weird...well requirement. I have to know what time it is when I wake up in the middle of the night! *grin* I'll have my cell phone with me for the photo/video capabilities, for some quick shots, so I can use that if need be, but I'd just as soon know and run out tonight to get a travel alarm! :)

yes there are clocks in the staterooms. and if i remember correctly there is also a clock radio. hope this helps.

*phew*

OK, no more questions before I go, you guys set my mind at ease...

*grin*

Thank you!!

Hmmm... I'm not sure there's an illuminated clock. There used to be no clock at all until they added the ship propeller clock (which is not lighted).

Your options are...

carry a travel alarm clock with a push-button light on it.

or

quickly turn the TV on to the ship information channel. The time will be displayed there.

Our propellor clock wasn't working right so we just used the TV to check the time.

I'm not sure I understand. There are no lite alarm clocks?

I'll add that to the pack list.

Thanks

Definately get a travel alarm clock. There is no illuminated clock in the room and the clock provided is hard to set an alarm on and can't be read in the dark. It is also hard to turn the alarm off. When you are awaken from a deep sleep sometimes it is hard to figure out alarm clocks and ours ended up on the floor a few times. Also the clock is propped up only by a small dowl that sticks into the back so it was constantly falling apart. Did you notice I HATED that clock. Needless to say I did not take it home or go to the gift shop to purchase my own.:duck:

When you turn the lights out, there is nothing giving off any light in the room. I have read that there is suppose to be a light in the closet that you can leave on by cracking the door but our's didn't have one...or it didn't work.

the propeller clock in our room did not work either... I thought I had broken it, but at least I know everyone else had the same problem..

I had my watch that I left on the nightstand and would just check that when I woke up in the middle of the night.

I never read about a light in the closet that could be left on... didn't notice one either, but I had read you can leave the bathroom light on and keep the door closed and it was enough light to see around the cabin.

Those recently added propeller clocks are a nice decorative touch, but worthless as a clock. They fall off their dowel all the time and you can't read them very well either.

I have never seen a clock radio in the room unless one is provided in the upper categories like the Cats 1, 2 or 3.

I've never seen a clock radio either.

We bring a little travel clock. I don't know why I bother, I never sleep late. It's mostly so I can see how much longer I have to wait for everyone else to wake up.;)

We had the oft-mentioned propeller clock in our room on the Wonder, but no illuminated clock-radio (perhaps they're only in more expensive staterooms?). It was on the desk, and was not visible from the bed -- first because it's too small, second because it doesn't light up.

I definately wished several times for a light-up alarm clock!

LOL! I wish I had read this before we left, as I'm the sort that NEEDS to know what time it is when I wake up in the middle of the night, and like you all reported, there was only the propeller clock in the stateroom. I ended up using my cell phone as my "clock"...which worked, but next time I'll pack a lighted clock for sure. :)

Am I the only one that always wears a watch with an illuminated dial ? Much easier than worrying about taking a clock...or depending on the very inaccurate clock in the room.

LOL! Nope, my DD does, but I think she'd be annoyed if I woke her up to check. *wink*
