Our family did not begin vacationing in WDW until long after the last sale of personalized walkway bricks. It just occurred to me: with the enormous expansion of Fantasyland, bringing back those bricks would be an excellent way for Disney to recoup some $. (Sure, sure - the amount of money they would bring in wouldn't even begin to touch their expenses. But money is money, right?!) :-)

Anyone care to speculate on whether or not they will do this again? There's got to be LOTS of walkways to build! Perhaps if we start a campaign, they will consider it - if they haven't already done so. Who amoung us would buy a brick?

On this note, can anyone who purchased any of the previous walkway bricks remember how they came to know about their sale? Where would one even find this kind of information?

BRING BACK THE BRICKS!!! WE WANT SOME BRICKS!! :-)

I've been trying to buy one for years... When they were selling them there was a booth outside the gates of mk. I can't see why they wouldn't want to keep selling $200 bricks, but it seems like they don't care to anymore.

so you want them to repave the whole park in personalized bricks?

I would venture a guess the OP was most likely referring the continuing the walkway.

ok where?
It goes from CR to MK to a path that deadends.
Then doesn't it pick up again between GF and Poly.
They pretty much covered everything.

Always felt sorry for folks who got placed at the deadend., nobody ever walks out there.
We were luck and got right in the main court area just outside security.

Count me out. I am not interested in buying a brick if they should choose to sell them.....

Speaking the bricks at the deadend.

I admit that's one thing I have never done is walk that path to look at them.

Has anyone?

Or does anyone have a brick out there. Do you even walk out there to see it?

Originally the plan was to go all the way around. It is possible the OP was referring to this. I realize the fact that this is no longer the case. Maybe the OP did not.

Kinda..expect the chanel where they keep the Water pagent floats.
and you still you have the water bridge between BL and 7SL to go over.
Both would be huge arc bridges to go over to make it a complete circle.
Then you would still have the gap of field and marsh between CR and TTR.

Don't know if it was ever going to be completely around so you could walk the entire thing.

If anything maybe sell bricks at the international gateway of EPCOT between EPCOT and BW and BC.

or (oh please) remove the tombstones at EPCOT entrance and sell bricks there.

And how about bricks with "stars" outside HS to the parking lot.

thenbricks with leafs outside AK to the buses.

Yes, we have two bricks. One is in the walkway at the Poly going to the Ticket and Transportation Center and the other one is 2000 brick right at the T&TC. We do go over and check them both out about every other trip.

Near the TTC and Poly I can understand.
I mean specifically the path from MK to where it deadends.
Anyone ever walk out there and back?

A- It goes from CR to MK to a path that deadends.
B- Then doesn't it pick up again between GF and Poly.

A- Between #2 and #6 on the map.
B- Between #4 and #5 on the map.

On Robo's nice map, I can see between the Polynesian and the Wedding Pavilion but I can't see between what #2 and #6. Who would see them?

I have a brick. I bought it when it first came out. At the time, it was $90 and I really didn't hesitate. It's right at the now exit to Magic Kingdom. It used to be very near the entrance but 9/11/01 changed all that. The funny thing is, while it has my name, my husband's name and our son's name, it has a hometown that none of us have lived in for 10 years. We love it but we don't go out of our way to see it anymore.

OP here.

Perhaps I shall rephrase my question:

Who among us would pay to have a personalized brick somewhere inside the new Fantasyland expansion? :-)

I would!

Am I the only one still around here that got one in 2007? :)

I know there are CMs that have wanted to continue the program to at least fill in the "blanks" scattered around. They managed to reopen the program for a very short time in 2007 to do just that - at $300 a pop. When word hit the DIS, suddenly they were flooded with requests - and apparently got noticed by some suits who abrubtly closed it again. For a time some (like me) who got charged for the brick but hadn't got the confirmation were told no brick, and you'd get a refund at some point (it had to work its way through the snake of Disney communications)...but they thought better of it and at least gave bricks to all the completed orders.

I know at least as of a couple years ago one of the CMs involved that I discussed the whole thing with was still trying to finish it, but since then I've heard nothing.

One problem could be that if Disney wishes to renovate an area, they have to be mindful of the "10 year" guarantee on the bricks, and if there are those scattered about that are a lot newer, it could complicate things - not that it was necessarily a reason for shutting back down.

ummm....idk if I would get one...not for $300 but I might for cheaper...can I bring one from home that I wrote on :rotfl:

We received a brick as a gift for our wedding in 1996. We are down the walkway towards the wedding pavilion. We usually check it out once a year and take a pic.

If they were offered again we would absolutely buy one! Our kids have wanted their own or at least a family brick since they first saw ours.:)

I got one with my just deceased father's name on it for $90. His brick is between MK and the CR and closest to the CR under a tree. I'm glad that I got it.
