DD is dancing at the Cleveland Gladiators halftime on June 4th. When she danced at the Cav's halftime, we drove back home the same night (3 hour drive). I am not going to do that again. Also last time the studio had a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, however we aren't able to do that this time-due to the possibility of Cavs having playoff game on Sat. a single room is 269.00. I will drive out of the city even maybe as far as Mansfield, jsut don't want to go all the way home.

I did stay at the Hyatt Place a few years back when I went to a Billy Joel concert, but that wasn't on 71. Is there any clean, decent, safe under 100.00
hotel along 71. I will have 2 girls with me, and maybe another mom depending on how her son does at regional track meet. So safety is really improtant. I looked on TA but not sure of the safe areas, some reviews are years old. If I have to I would go over 100.

TIA

I would recommend the Strongsville area. Very safe and there is a large mall and restaurants there. Only about 20 minutes South of Cleveland. Have fun!

I'm not sure what the prices are at the Renaissance are at this time of year. Probably not under $100 but it is connected to the Q by walking through Tower City.

Going down 71, there are quite a few hotels at the Strongsville exit. That would be a safe area. I don't know which ones are there off the top of my head but South Park Mall is there so you would have plenty to keep you occupied!

Best wishes!

We usually stay in North Olmsted, which is just off 480, not far from 71. We usually priceline and get the Radisson there for about $35 a night. Easy on and off the highway. We have also stayed downtown and pricelined the Renaissance for about $70 a night. Strongsville area is pretty good too.

We have always used Priceline or Hotwire for Downtown Cleveland for 3star or higher. We have gotten the Crowne Plaza and the Hyatt. Really enjoyed both of them. We have also stayed at the Residence inn. We have stayed in nice places on I-77 near Independance also, very easy to get to 71 from there. If you are going to drive to Mansfield Comfort inn and Suites is nice.

I live in Strongsville and I would stay here. There is a Hilton right off of 71 in a very safe area. Like everyone else said, the mall is here and there is a Panera right there for breakfast.Good luck!

I personaly think that the Independence area would be alot closer to Downtown and there are several major chains in that area. As well as resterants that are right off the highway. It is a very safe area so thats what I would pick. Strongsville to me is more mall centered. But thats jsut my view.

There are also a ton of chain motels off the Bagley Rd exit (71). Middleburg Hts is less than 20 minutes from downtown and just past the airport and a completely fine neighborhood. Actually most of the "airport" hotels are in this location. You definately DO NOT want any "airport" location on Brookpark Rd. YUK! Make sure the addresses are Bagley Rd and/or Engle Rd.

regards

You guys are great I knew I could count on you. I think Independence is where I stayed the last time. Great hint for the airport hotels I appreciate where to stay away from. thank you so much.
