Clermont Florida

I don’t live in Clermont, but I’m about 30 minutes away. It’s a sleepier suburb (almost rural), but it’s grown a lot recently because of the lower cost of living than Orlando. It’s very hilly compared to most of central FL, so it’s picturesque. Not sure about crime, but I’ve never really heard that it’s bad or anything.

You might try posting in the City-Data forum.

Thank you! That’s great information!

Clermont is a nice place. It's about a 25 minute drive to Disney property. There are some older areas, but also a ton of new areas. Lots of restaurants and shopping along hwy 50 that runs through the heart of Clermont.

It is about the only place in Central Florida that is actually hilly. Kind of cool. It has grown a lot since I moved to the area 14 years ago. I live in Windermere, but I'd have no problem living in Clermont.

Clermont has really expanded in the last few years with restaurants and a lot of shopping options. The cost of living is really the same as it is here in Orlando. There are a lot of housing options and the cost of houses is a bit lower in Lake County (Clermont) vs Orange County (Orlando)
Sales tax is a tad higher in Lake county as well.
I know you didn’t ask, but someone will eventually, LOL—Depending on the area in Clermont that you live in, it will take about 30 mins to get to WDW depending on which route you take and the time of day.

Love Clermont! I'm not a beach person and don't like the congested tourist towns, so if I HAD to live in FL again, Clermont would be my choice. As a poster above stated, it's hilly and so different looking from typical FL towns.

Not me but relatives. They really like it. Close to WDW, part timers. They are in an over 55, Wind Mill,Village

This is good information. You think it would be reasonable to live there and work at Disney?

I remember many years back it was the sticks and not much was there, mostly orange groves. Sure had built up. I never much cared for that side of town. Too far out maybe for me.

I think a lot of people do. Also Clermont addresses stretch really far north and south- downtown Clermont is like 17 miles north of an area that still has a Clermont address (closer to Disney).

Not sure what exactly you’re looking for, but you might look at Winter Garden and Windermere as well. They’re in the same area.

Actually, Winter Garden (which borders the western edge of property-actually part of unincorporated Orange County,( but uses the Winter Garden zip code and post office) and Windermere which is closer to Downtown Disney areas are a much closer drive to WDW than Clermont is as Clermont is a 15 minute drive from Winter Garden.

There’s a part of Clermont (probably unincorporated) that’s really close to DAK, down by Four Corners, but yeah I agree, Windermere and WG get closer to property.

DD just moved from an apt in Clermont and she works for Disney. She was in a 2 bedroom that she shared with a roommate. THeir rent was ~$1300/month. This was a new apt complex, The Oaks something. She was about 20-25 min from Disney Springs area.
