Clermont area question

Hi all
We are looking at renting a villa in the clermont area but have never been there before. Can anyone give any info on the area, ie is this a safe area, has anyone had any problems at all, what is the dining out like there?
The villa we have seen is on Cedarwood Way in Clermont if thats any help.

Hi MrsJ...........I have never stayed at Clermont but did look at Orange Tree when looking for a property to buy over there. There was never any mention of the area being unsafe but we were advised that there are more long term residents there than tourists.

Its still only 20 minutes from Disney so very good location and a huge Walmart and lots of restaurants there (Chains such as Chillis, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Wendys and then lots of other independant restaurants too). Im sure you would enjoy it there as much as any other villa complex around the area.

Hello!

We stayed at Highgrove Community (Summer Loop Place) in Clermont - Just opposite the huge Walmart - in January this year.

The location was good, we did Disney about 7 days (out of 14 ) and Universal, Florida Mall with no problems at all.

The community we were on feltvery safe and the clubhouse was really good. We went to the Taco Bell on the first night and the Walmart most days and had no issues with safety. I was not aware of any problems in the area at all.

There weren't many places to eat out in the immediate area but we always passed loads on the way back from the parks. On the nights that we weren't in the parks we tended to eat at the villa in the evening after a trip to Walmart - where we also rented DVDs for only $1! We did go to a Red Lobster but it was at least a 20 minute drive.

I really missed being on site BUT it was a total bargain as we paid £1050 for 2 weeks with pool heating (5 bed villa and 7 adults) so me and my hubby got the whole 2 weeks for about the same as we paid for 1 night at the GF!

Can't think of anything else that might help but please ask if there is something.
