Disney.com has their charm bracelets and charms on clearance...very cute.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Pick a Pearl in Japan would be able to set a pearl in a charm?

I'm going to surprise DD10 with a pick a pearl while we're in the World Showcase. It would be awesome if we could get the pearl added to the charm bracelet.

I don't know what kind of charm settings they have at WDW, but we ordered the carriage one from ebay (I think it's like $4), and the pearl just goes inside. My mom and I wear ours on a charm bracelet (although it is one of the larger charms on my bracelet), and my dd wears hers as a pendant. It's a silver-colored charm. Here's a photo of it:

where are these clearance prices of which thou speakest??

I want one!

Goofy Girl, can you tell me what you searched on eBay to find that. I typed in Fairytale Charm and sisn't fine anything. Thanks

Just wanted to add, I found boxed set by character at Macy's for $7.50. We bought 1 for each of my daughters. A snowwhite one that included the bracelet and about 5 charms and an Aladdin one. The bracelet and charms look the same.

They had Cinderella, Tinkerbell, and Beauty and the Beast sets too. Alice was the only one not marked down on clearance because of the new movie.

I'm ordering the bracelet and the clasp charms (I like the Minnie).

When we stayed at OKW 4yrs ago, they sold these same clasp charms in the gift shop. We got DD(then 6) a bracelet and let her choose some charms. It was nice because she could move the charms easily. Alas, she lost the bracelet. So, I want to get her another one and then hopefully, when I surprise her with a pick a pearl, they can add it to the bracelet.

Just did an ebay search... type "carriage pearl cage" and you will find it. I looked at this for my DD but she picked something different... "I'm really not a fan of Cinderella. I lean more towards Sleeping Beauty." Oh to be 7 again.

How big are the pearls and how much do they cost? It's at Japan at Epcot right?

For the OP, it's doubtful that a pearl can be set into one of the Disney shopping charms. I believe the charms they offer have stems on them and the pearl that is chosen is drilled and then glued to the stem.
At least that's been my experience with any pick a pearl kind of deal where the pearl is attached, be it a pendant or a pair of earrings.

The pearl cages work because the pearl is not attached to anything.

I just returned my order to the Disney Store....it was HUGE. I bought if for me, thinking they would be the same size as the ones in the park. Nope. Look at the size they list - the charmes are over 1" in length with the clasp. Cinderella's carriage was also about 1" in width. I purchased the bracelet and 8 charms and it weighed about a pound!!!:scared1: The charms are solid metal and the bracelet only has 12 links or so.

The ladies at the Disney Store were thrilled to get it back - they don't sell anything like it!

It was just too clunky and heavy for me. I hope you have better luck.

I have a pearl from the Japan Pav. that I had set in a cage that looks like it is 4 gracefull bars of gold, twisted with the pearl in the middle. It is on my charm braclet, and has been for sereral years. They still had that on last Dec, but it was for a necklace... I just took it to my jewlery guy and he put it on the bracelet for me...

pick a pearl won't put the pearl on any piece of jewlery you bring in (it is easy for you to put it in a cage your self though). They will only mount it for you if you purchase the setting there, also if you were to bring in a pearl they won't mount that to one of their settings either it has to be their pearl in their setting.

The size and color of the pearl is the surprise but every oyster is guaranteed a pearl. It is $17 or it might be $17.50 now. Yes it's in Japan in Epcot. It's also at DTD.

We did it 2 times in DTD and got a 6 and a 6.5mm pearl. I got twins in Japan, they are perfect, identical which is supposed to be more rare than just twins in general. They are the exact same size and color. I am thinking of having them set into earrings but I haven't decided.

My girls have the carriage cage and the hello kitty one. Sadly, one of my girls lost their necklace and pearl.

GoofyGirl, THANK YOU!!!

I ordered 3 of those pearl cages that you showed a photo of. They were $13 with shipping for all 3 and are white gold plates. To my surprise they even came with the neclaces. They came today (already!) I love them, they are beautiful. Pick a Pearl was on our list for all 3 of our girls this next trip. I always wanted to do it but the cost of setting 3 made me cringe, but this is just perfect and so pretty.

My oldest isn't too into jewelry, but still loves the idea of it, so I think I may get a pretty pin and pin it to her pin trading neclase if she wants, though in 6 months who knows, she may like it again. Either way, thanks, they are perfect, and I never would have known about a pearl case so THANKS! :cool1:

I ordered from ebay. The pick a pearl in Japan, can you just get the pearl or do you have to set it?

Oh my! Not sure how something that big will look or feel on my 10yr old's little wrist!
