Do you prefer clear or colored lights on your Christmas tree? I have one of each I like clear, while the kids like colored.

DH and I had this problem when we first got married. I liked clear - he likes color. So we put both on the tree. The white lights twinkle and the color lights are steady - it looks beautiful.

Go for both!

We've done both before & it actually does look pretty good!

We ended up doing only clear this year, simply because of my mood/desire, but who knows? I might do both again next year, or all colored. :)

I like them both...it's hard to decide. My tree has colored lights on it. I like the colored ones because they're more exciting and festive. But, I like the clear ones because I think they give a more classy look.

I prefer blue, husband prefers multi colored. In years past, we'd string both on the tree and whoever turned on the tree at night got their choice.

This year, it's a prelit tree, and I'll probably spend part of tomorrow morning putting the strands of blue lights in there.

Me too. The lights all twinkling and shinning is my favorite part of the holiday. Along with the Christmas carols. Makes me feel all warm and cozy.

I like multi colored for the kids and clear for classy. Earlier this week I ordered a tree from Amazon that has both! So now I can have either or both with the flip of a switch. :)

Our main tree has colored lights on it, but the tree that I decorate just because (no gifts under it) is done in burgandy and gold with white lights.

Clear lights, although, Dear SO loves colored lights, this year, it's clear.

color, i love the color. my dad started putting clear on a few years ago and i complained so when we bought our new tree with the built in lights, he got color. i dont think its very christmassy (i know, not a word) with just clear lights. ya know?

I like them both! We put clear on our more formal tree that goes in the living room and we put colored on the tree that is in our family room.

We do one tree in clear and one tree in green.

Outside on the tress we have red, clear and green.

we have over a million bulbs here,, and we ussually outline the yard with clear, the house with clear, privacy fence is multi colored bulbs, we'll use multi colored on the outside real growing cedar, mixed on hte living room tree, we have an antique solid white tree that we put in dining room that gets all blue lights, DD will use multi colored in her room, ( if she puts up her tree this year)

We use clear every year and the prelit christmas tree we bought the other night has clear bulbs on it. My ornaments are very ornate, foil and colorful angels and the clear doesnt detract from those showing up. I also use velvet and lace ribbon down the length of the tree so colored wouldnt look right with that either.

Last year, we bought a fake tree from QVC. I just love it. It has both clear and multi color lights. With the flick of the remote, I can have clear or multi color or both. It is great!

Persnally, I love the colored lights best.

But my SO would rather have clear. His pre-lit tree is all clear and so are all the lights he has for outside. :(

But last year I made him to a couple of the bushes outside with colored. :)

multi- it's about the only time we have any color in our drab beige living room! :rotfl:
