Are the Us and IOA parks as clean as Disney? I mentioned to a friend that I was planning on splitting my next trip between them and Disney and she warned me that I would be dissapointed, not with the rides but with the cleanliness of the park and over all feel.. she mentioned bathrooms being dirty, trash on the ground and people smoking out of designated areas... any thoughts??

She might have been thinking of Six Flags. :)

Actually, the park is very clean. There is no real designated smoking area (outside is basically it), but it isn't like cancer city. Sweepers are all around the park and garbage cans dot the park.

Although very harshly put I have to agree with what Mike said.

We were last over in October 2000 and we really felt that the Disney Parks had gone down hill.

Don't know what it was but the cushioned handrails on the boats to Splash Mountain smelt really bad (no I wasn't sniffing them, the nasty smell was transferred to my hands when I touched them).

The lime green paintwork outside Buzz Lightyear that had been touched up didn't match.

Blizzard Beach also had an unsavoury whiff in places.

Most of the staff looked like they would have preferred to have been somewhere else (IOA maybe!).

The two Universal parks really stood out from any of the Disney Parks that year!
