Cleanliness Issues.......have you had them?

I haven't had any cleanliness issues at the following resorts I've stayed at in the past year.
  • POP
  • POLY (stayed twice, each time extremely clean)
  • POFQ
  • ASMo

fw cabins very clean 2002
pop very clean 2005

CSR not clean nasty with no help from front desk 2006

Poly not clean in bathroom or the frig area but the bed and room were clean :confused3 2007

I have only stayed on property once, AKL. Our mousekeeper was horrible.
The room was dirty and we had to "fight" to get 5 towels left in our room as we were a party of 5 and she would only allow us to have 3 towels. I called the desk every day and it took an hour to get 2 more towels so we could all be clean.:lmao: There were many more problems with our mousekeeper but you said not to go into detail :rotfl:

Just went to DW for the first time. Stayed at POFQ. Room was clean except for some dust on the headboard and nightstands. Refrigerator did not work, was quickly replaced. AC was a major sleep-disrupter. "Repaired" on day 5 (but actually just got rid of one noise and replaced it with another). Only ever received one bottle of hand cream. We even left a note requesting more and never got any. No mildew or odd smells.

We've stayed at: ASmo(many times), ASsp, ASmu, CBR, POR(x2) & Poly, never had issues with housekeeping.

Our course after staying in a dump in Niagara Falls with jam on the microwave, half an inch of dust everwhere, mold on the bar of soap packaging, hot pink lipstick stain on the hand towel, blood stained pillows and a big black bug in the bed  :scared1:, anything seems cleaner.

Poly for a whole week and it was great. I did see a difference on the day that our regular gentleman was not there, but not enough to complain.

I personally think "clean" is very subjective myself. If you saw my sister in law's clean house, you would think she was just robbed! At least that's what I thought

I'm just happy to have my bed made, room vaccumed and bathroom cleaned with clean fresh towels on a daily basis because that NEVER happens at home.

We stayed in Movies Resort in April. It was the WORST experience we have ever had in a resort. The first room they put us in (family of 4) was a handicap room with 1 king bed. The room was very dirty. The phone was broken. The carpet was filthy. The trash can was not emptied. My youngest found a candy wrapper. We were moved (after 1.5 hours) to another room. There was mildew in the bathroom. What we didn't notice the first night was a little surprise left in the sink by the last occupant. Let's just say we checked out and moved off property for the rest of our stay. We will NEVER stay in another value resort. We are trying out Port Orleans Riverside in December. I hope this experience is better because we can afford to go to the Deluxe resorts yet.

We just returned from All Star Music and the very first day that we arrived the bathroom absolutely reeked of smoke. We had to call mousekeeping and have them change the shower curtains to alleviate the problem. When I first called I was told, "But ma'am this is a non-smoking resort." I told them I realized that but the smell was undeniable. They sent someone right up to address the issue and when I answered the door he tried to hand me the shower curtain and asked if I wanted to change it myself.

Beyond this, though we had a wonderful trip and I already wish I was back!

Yes, AKL. They checked us into a filthy room which hadn't been used in weeks (we later found out). Dead bugs everywhere and a very thick layer of dust on everything, even the towel animal was covered in brown dust/dirt! I immediately went to the front desk, reported the problem to a supervisor and was assured it would be taken care of by the time we returned from the parks. Fast forward 6 hours and we returned to the same dirty room. Another trip to the front desk and eventually the nighttime housekeeping manager came to our room and agreed, it was unacceptable. So they finally moved us to a clean room (far, far away from all signs of life) and the fridge didn't work and 2 lightbulbs were out. There we were at 10pm, still not unpacked (we arrived at 1pm that day) and I was in tears. Maintenance came and took care of the fridge (which took 2 days to cool our water) and lightbulbs.

Needless to say, what a waste of a first day at a "Deluxe" resort. Most of all I was extremely disappointed that there was no apology from management, especially when they "dropped the ball" when I first reported the problem.

As a result, as much as we loved the resort itself, we are not returning to AKL this year. I'm still a little miffed at the last of customer service.
