Do you ever wonder if you'll find some unknown phenomenon buried underneath something?

My dd is a packrat. I'm sure if any of you have lost anything, I found it tonight when I cleaned my dd's room. I hope I didn't throw away any of your treasures.:teeth: I struck gold in there too. I found 4 of my cd's I've couldn't find.

I swear to myself I'll never clean her room again, that I'll get her to do it, but I actually prefer a thorough cleaning every now and then.;)

Did you find a $100 check made out to me? I'm tearing the house apart looking for it! :)

She might have it hidden in her memory trunk. I was too tired to check it out.;)

I hope you find your check soon, MosMom.:)

We don't have kids but have two nieces and a nephew.

I was over there visiting recently and walked in to my younger nieces room and was shocked.

I made mention to my SIL that there was carpeting in her daughters room.

She said it's always been there.

I said I've never seen it before.

OMG....my kids room is a DISASTER!!!! I can clean it spotless...and it may last 2 days...if I am lucky!! I swear too, that I am not cleaning it anymore and they can just "live" in it like it is if they like it a "pig-sty"!!!

They really don't care.....I know in a couple days...I will clean it again.....and go through the same process!!!!

shannon,

Did you find my keys....I lost them a few months ago, and even though I was sure they'd eventually turn up, they never did.

Guess it doesn't really matter now....I've already replaced all the keys, but I sure do wonder where they went....

lol, when I clean my daughters room, I find stuff packed under her bed, put it in its place, when she goes up to her room she runs down stairs saying "look what I found daddy"

long post

Go through the same thing with my DS. He has so many little trinkets (toys from MacDonalds') all over the place ~ with pieces missing of course, but we can't throw them out.

School started today & while he's gone, I'm going to go in & clean out the junk. I bet he won't even miss it. (Hope I won't fall in the "black hole" in there though!)

It scares me to think of what my parents might have found when I was younger.

I was a bad, bad boy.... :p :teeth:

Maistre Gracey, how bad?:teeth:

Mishetta, my dd hasn't found what's missing yet. I took out 2 big garbage bags of junk. She can't even bear to throw away scrap paper.

LOL! My dd did the same thing, but she called me moma.;) She kept finding stuff and saying "Cool, I've wondered where this was!" I pointed out it was right under her feet all this time.

Bet, I found some keys in there the last time I braved going in there to clean. They weren't attached to a keychain though, maybe she threw your keychain with where ever she put Bridget's check.

Lisa, I imagine my dd's room to last all of 1/2 a day.

LOL, Emmagata. I might need to take a pic of her floor so she'll remember what it looks like.;)

I call my daughter the bag lady. I'd yell at her but I think it's hereditary and I'm partially to blame. She just loves to make piles in bags and backpacks. She has the tiniest room too.

I'm pretty casual when it comes to my kids room (ok, the whole house...) but sometimes I do go in for a through cleaning.

Yah, I do that too. My kids keep their rooms pretty clean themselves. They have to pick up every night, do a thorough cleaning on Thursdays and I go in about once every month or two and help to go through stuff and get it really organized.

I am actually really impressed with how well they do at 4 and 5 keeping their own space clean and organized. They seem to really care about it. I am hoping this attitude stays with them as they get older.

Richard spent the night at a friend's house in June. I told him that after he cleans his room, his friend can spend the night here on a weekend. Hmmm...the room is STILL a mess and it's the end of August! I wonder when I'm going to break down and do it myself.

I've always made the boys clean their own rooms with my help if needed. I get so mad at my younger son every time we do a major cleaning session that steam is coming out of my ears just thinking about it! I'll still have him clean his room - but when school starts I'm going in while he's gone and clearing out some of the trash (treasures?) he shoves in the closet, under the bed, behind his dresser etc.

I don't TOUCH my DD17's room. At her age, she's responsible enough to do it, if it's that important to her. Besides, I feel it's an invasion of her privacy to do it after age 13 or so. They have very private things that mean a lot to her and girls especially don't like their things being "touched"!

Every once in a while, she spends a day in there reorganizing and finding things she thought were long gone.

We usually remind her to pick up her room when we know the "bug guy" is coming. He comes every 2 months to spray (we live in Florida). We at least want him to be able to find the floor! LOL:rolleyes:
