What is the best way to clean the Disney Princess and minnie mouse dress? One of my girls decided she has to be "red" minnie mouse for Halloween (and the Not so scarry Halloween party). This is the costume her sister wore last year for halloween and practically lived in for the month of November. Her sister wants to be "pink" minnie (which is fine even though it has been in the dress up trunk all summer).

I have to brand new Cinderella dresses on the padded hangers hanging in the closet that neither of them want to be.

Look at the tags, it probably says they are machine washable. Both of the cindy dresses we have are machine washable. I hang them to dry though then iron them. Just the fabric part, no the tulle part.

I would think the Minnie dresses are just polyester and will wash pretty well. May need a light iron.

They're not as finicky as they look.

Best Wishes!

I'm pretty sure the dress says hand wash. I wonder if i will be okay if i do gentle cyle in the washing machine?

Hi,

My DH is a dry cleaner and I asked him...he's says you can wash them in the washer separately with cold water, a mild detergent, hang to dry and then take them to a dry cleaner for a steam press (puff). They look soooo cute!

Before I got my front-loading washing machine, I would put items like dressups inside a pillowcase (tied shut) so that the tulle or other floofy bits wouldn't get stuck on the agitator.

I'd take the washed item(s) out of the pillowcase ASAP and give it/them a good shake before hanging to dry.

We send out all of our DD4 play/ dress up cloths once a month to be dry cleaned.

I'm always afraid I'd ruin the favorites by washing them myself.

I have washed costumes like that before even if they weren't suppose to be washed. I turned them inside out and put them in a lingerie or sweater bag and washed on delicate.

HAs anyone had any luck with the Snow White dress from WDW? My dd wore for an entire week at WDW and it is due for a good washing before we return in January. I am not concerned about the glitter as long as I do not have a ton "glue spots" but I concerned about the ribbon detail on the sleeves getting all crinkled in the wash, but I believe the tags say do not dry clean. I could never get the dress clean enough hand washing...

One other alternative, if it is not to remove stains, or needs a refreshing, I have a conair clothes steamer from Kmart for $29 and I also have a hand steam cleaner that disenfects and cleans EVERYTHING.

I use this for light wear, or long periods of nonwear. I also do my winter/summer switch out clothes.

The minnie dress on the right, I soaked in woolight, squeezed out gently. put between two towels, then when almost dry a dryer toss for the delicate cycle to refresh and poof up.
