all done with credit cards. Why have good credit when it gives the credit card companies more reason to crap all over you?
Citi can stick itwhere the sun dont shine!;)
Called up and asked why my shell card was closed, and they told me they reviewed my account and found 'issues'. I asked over the last 6 years of on time payments when the issue was, and they told me to have a nice day.
Yep, all done lol.

This is like us and Capital One. Together we (DH and I) have three cards, and a total of about $30,000 worth of credit. We pay on time each and every month... probably even EARLY!

Why do they choose to give us such grief!

If two of those cards weren't our FIRST ever CCs, they would be GONE.

Have you checked your credit report to see what the issue might be? That'd worry me a little bit but I'd get rid of them also.

Credit card companies are re-evaluating the amount of credit that they are willing to give to an individual or couple. It is likely that the OP had more than one card with Citi and they wanted to reduce their liability to her so they closed one of her cards. It stinks, but it is a sign of the economy. People who have been responsible are kind of getting screwed with the new credit card rules

No issues with CC companies here. We like using their money and getting rewards. Not going to throw away hundred$ of dollar$ a year just because they threaten to raise interest rates.

I hear you! Know that a many people are in the same boat, IMO interest increases for no reason other than to help bailouts. We canceled Disney Chase recently - went from intro rate of 6.9, to 9% then 13%. We called and tried to work something out with them as we have excellent credit and never been late...it was a no go, so sadly Mickey is no longer in my wallet.

Have a couple other CC's we use for rewards points and ER's, thankfully interest has not increased and we carry no balances. My heart goes out to the many struggling hard working honest people that truly depend on CC's and now perhaps will find no way out. :confused3

Have great credit, and had 2 citi cards. Dont think that is many with them at all. If anything it was us being loyal to them. 6 years of loyalty... means nothing. just sad. They couldnt even give me a reason. A friend of mine had her card since 1989 and just had it closed.:sad2: Good, honest, hard working people paying for others mistakes.
I googled this and apparently its all over. Lots of people are having this happen. I am just going pay this crap off on the other cards I carry, and try to be debt free. Hope Citi has good luck with the people they decided to keep.
What makes me wonder with them though, is that making people angry, especially the people that pay their bills, and have them close accountsor jack up interest rates, how can that be any good for business. They will eventually be begging people to come back to them cause they will have less business, and less $$$

So far so good with Chase Disney. Love that card lol! (knock on wood), I wont cut that one up, but am going to pay it down ;)

Got rid of all credit cards - now we are a cash only household. I could not deal with all the jacked up rates and loyalty went out the window. Oops, missed a payment by a day even though you've been with us for years...sorry but now that will be a 325% APR (at least that is what it felt like going from 0% to around 28%). We still have a car payment, student loans, ect but that is it besides the house.

I had a $16,000 limit and $7500 balance on my B of A card. I paid it IN FULL. The next week, I got a letter saying they had cut my limit to $600, after almost 20 years of perfect payment record!!!! I HATE B of A and I do not use that word lightly. Now we need to get our mortgage out of their grubby little paws!!!

So, OP, it's not just you!!

Only have my Target card now. I only use it at Target so our school gets money and I pay it off every month.

yeah, the CC companies were not happy with me when I paid all the balances in full and closed a bunch.

USAir tried to bump our rate up from 13% to 30% when we missed a payment. DH went off! They had a payment in Sept, no payment due in October and 2 in the month of November. We said no way jose and closed the account. It was at 13% until we paid it off. a few months later is when the gov't said credit companies had to have the due date the same every month. I wonder how many other credit companies did the same thing USAir did.
