Cleaning (blech) Made Easier

I wanted to share two things that I've recently purchased that have made cleaning the house so much easier.

The first is the Swiffer Duster. I thought it sounded hokey that this would do any better than a dusting cloth, but I had a coupon, so I thought I'd try them. What a fast and efficient way to dust! These things are like a miracle... and I live in probably the dustiest house in PA.

The second thing is the Dyson vacuum cleaner. It wasn't cheap, but it is a bagless vac that has a 17 foot hose built in as the handle. You can leave the vac at the bottom of the stairs and use the handle to vacuum them. I don't need to try the Swiffer dust mop, because it is the only vacuum that I have found to actually work on sweeping hardwood floors. That saves a big step since our first floor is about 1500 sq. ft. and all hardwood with area rugs. I formerly had to dust mop, then vacuum. The bagless portion empties with the push of a button, so your hands don't get near the dirt and the suction power is unbelievable.

So, now that my house is clean for the weekend... I wanted to share this information with you, DIS friends...

Thanks for sharing with us! I have been wondering about those Swiffer dusters, now I know..........I am going to the store to get some today!! :teeth:

I have not heard of the Dyson vaccum, but it sounds wonderful. Did you get it locally?

Have a fantastic weekend now that your house is clean!!

Thanks for the info on the Duster. I was seriously thinking about getting one.

I have the Swiffer Duster. Which definitely makes life a lot easier.

I have not heard of the Dyson Vacuum. I have wood floors, tile and carpets. Sounds like this would be the type of vacuum I could use. It is getting time to purchase a new one. I like bagless vac and the lenth of the hose. I don't know too many vacuum with that long of a hose. Do you know who sells these?

We bought our Dyson in Best Buy. It was featured in a new products section of the Parade Magazine that comes with the Sunday paper a few weeks ago. When my DH read about it, he said we had to have one. I balked at the $500 price tag, but it is worth every penny... and then some.

I am going to have to pickup some of those dusters, as I believe I live on the dustiest house in Georgia :-) HOwever from the title of the post, I thought you were going to offer to come and clean up for me ;-0

I've been using the Pledge Grab-its dusting cloths. I also have the "mop" and can not believe how much I miss after sweeping my kitchen floor with a broom. They're great for quicky dusting of furniture!
