Cleaning a stroller?

We are going to Disney in July this year. I have a Perego and an umbrella stroller. I'm thinking of bringing the Perego since it has a shade and a place for my DS to place his drink cup. But it is so dirty. What do you use to clean your stroller? I don't think I can remove the cloth and throw it in the washing machine. (If I can, please tell me how).

I would prefer to bring the umbrella stroller but there is no shade covering. Where could I get a clip on umbrella that would fold easily with the stroller? We are using bus transportation so I want something that is easily foldable.

3rd option is to rent from WDW or an outside stroller place but I'm trying to keep costs to a minimum.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I don't have a peg perego but I'm sure you can take the cover off and wash it. I do that with all my stroller and then just hose down the frame and canopy. It dries fast in the sun.

Almost all strollers are washable.

Turn it over and look around the frame area. You'll probably see little covers that pop open with screws. Unscrew the screws and shimmy the cover off the frame.

That's what I do when I want a serious wash.

Otherwise, I just spray my stroller down with Oxi-Clean or some type of spray fabric cleaner and go at it with the hose.

My dries sitting outside after a few hours

You can usually wash them. If you don't have the booklet that came with it, you can probably find it online.

However, before you do that, try just putting it outside next time it rains. When it's still wet, use a cloth and clean off anything that didn't wash off in the rain. Unless the fabric is exceptionally dirty, it will probably be enough. That works for high chairs and all kinds of baby equipment that get dirty.

I didn't know you could unscrew the cover off. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. Thank you.

I had a Chicco which was the same as the Pliko and I could remove the covers. In the back, the padding snapped on, and I was able to remove snaps, clasps, etc. I washed it on delicate in the washer, and hung dry it so it wouldn't shrink. Strollers have to be washable, imagine the funk it goes through! Poop, pee, sweat, mashed up food, drool, puke, etc.

Do a search for the manual online. It will show you how. It's not easy to figure out but with the pictures it's really not that bad.

sunshine kids (radian/diono) sells a sunshade that clips to pretty much anything - large canopy and SPF 50, it's made of the collapsible edging so it can fold up pretty small to be stored - and no hard bits if someone bumps it, it bends out of the way, and flops back up easily. It should fit an umbrella stroller easily.

Otherwise for a hard to disassemble stroller - we just take it to the driveway and hose it down, turn it upside down to dry, then go about our day. With 50 screws to unscrew, I don't plan to take my stroller covers off unless absolutely necessary.
