I used to use "The Works" for soap scum with some success, but have since switched to Krud Kutter. This past summer I was buying paint at Home Depo. I brought in a piece of the baseboard so I could get a good match on the white color. We had just had some drywall work done, so the baseboard I brought in had lots of dry pieces of drywall on it. I thought we were going to have to sand it down and repaint it, but then I watched the lady (who mixed my paint) spray the Krud Kutter on the baseboard and all of the krud came right off, but the paint stayed. She said the stuff words great on almost everything and that is was very popular in the store.
I went and found where the store was selling it and there were only 2 bottles left (she said they sell out often). It does a wonderful job on soap scum! The best part is that it is a green product and it's safe to use unlike some of those Dollar Tree products that have have very strong cancer causing chemicals in them and are not all that safe to use.
I still use the The Works for my toilet bowls. It works best if you leave the stuff in the toilet for about 15 min. and then come back to clean it. I also love "Awesome" which is sold at the Dollar Tree, but I'm real careful to wear gloves and to rinse many times because that stuff is deadly.
I usually just use them at the end of my shower, so the doors are all wet...which in turn makes the dryer sheet wet. FWIW, it can be a used dryer sheet.

This thread is awesome just what I was looking for. I just bought a house and the shower has caked up scum on the door & crevices. I've been scrubbing it with a toothbrush & lysol cleaner but, it's still there!
