This cruise we have decided to go down to Cocoa Beach the day before the cruise so we are not as rushed as we were last cruise. Can anyone recomend a nice, CLEAN hotel on Cocoa Beach. It does not have to have to be ocean front or anything special like that. The most important thing is that it is CLEAN. DS is handicapped and we use the tub. Nothing is nastier than a yucky tub We will be traveling with another family who are on a pretty tight budget. There will be 6 in all (them and us) . Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe it would be cheaper to get a suite for the 6 of us (4 adults 2 kids) instead of 2 rooms?? Has anyone had any luck on priceline for hotels in Cocoa Beach?? What "guides" did you use to get the hotel in Cocoa Beach?I have read good things about Doubletree and CourtYard but I have read terrible things about the Holiday Inn and the HoJos. I would appreciate any guidence in this matter. Thanks in advance.

If you are as picky about which property you book as you suggest you are, I wouldn't take a chance with Priceline or Hotwire.

I would book either the Holiday Inn Express (note... this is not the Holiday Inn... the Holiday Inn Express is a much newer and nicely-maintained facility) or the Courtyard by Marriott or the Hampton Inn.

I have a full list of Space Coast properties at my web site...

Budget wise the Radisson is hard to beat if you are driving. The reason is you can leave your car there and save the 8/day port parking charge. You did not mention which crusie you are on but this can save anywhere from 24.00-56.00.
A suite at the Radisson can be had for 99.00 if you watch for the specials. If the kids can sleep with Mom and Dad (you did not mention ages) or can sleep on the floor it would be doable. The bath tub is a NICE big "Garden type" tub in the bedroom of the suite. When we stayed the room was spotless.
The room also has a microware and a small frig., and a coffee pot with complimentary coffee. I brought along a few mini cereal boxes, and a quart of milk.
So, you can put everyone in one room, park your car, and have breakfast for 99.00!

I will second what Dave said about Hotwire and Priceline...although we use them frequently and have usually had good luck, the last one (La Quinta) was very musty smelling and although it was not overly filthy, I wouldn't have taken a bath in the tub. It was fine for overnight, but not a place I would stay for a long time! Also, the location was pretty far away from restaurants etc. Normally we get really good hotels, but you're never sure!

like the Hampton and Courtyard by Marriott... according to Marie in the sales department... also... pick one that serves a continental breakfast and you save even more!!!

I stayed at the Hampton 2 years ago. It was beautiful. At the time I think it was a year old or so, or maybe just completely redone. It's on the ocean side, but it has a row of buildings in front of it that are beach front. There is a nice path that leads to the beach. They also have an excellent continental breakfast each morning. I can't say enought good things about that hotel, it was one of the nicest (for your money) hotels I've stayed at in a while. As for the LaQuinta, we stayed in one in Charlotte NC, last year and it was horrible. The first room was filthy so they moved us to another room that was almost as dirty. End result, we got that night free.

Thank you all so much for the info. I knew I came to the right place. I am taking your advice and saving my first experience on Priceline for sometime when I am not as picky. Thanks again!! I am going to talk it over with our friends but I am leaning toward the Raddison.I did not know about the parking perk and as we will have a van that will save some $. :D
