Hi.

I know this sounds crazy but I am booking a room for very close friends of mine who are absolute CLEAN FREAKS!!!

They have a 3 year old daughter and a 8 month old baby.

They want to stay on site but want the absolute cleanest room available.

They would rather pay more for a smaller room with no view but it be a clean room then pay for a nicer view but dirtier room.

Are you still with me? :)

I'm thinking about booking AKL for them since it is the newest hotel.

I know this sounds crazy but I'm telling you -- they somewhat sick in the head about cleanliness. To each his/her own! :)

Can you help PLEASE!!!

Thanks

Del

I think you're onto something with AKL being the newest hotel. Book a savannah view room with the low lighting and they won't notice!

Those poor children. I bet there is no "5 second" rule in that family for dropped binkys.

I hate to bust their bubble but even the newest hotel can have a bad day.....

Even if the hotel is new they might end up with a mediocre house keeping staff....

BTW all my rooms have looked clean and smelled clean...but I'm not a clean freak so I'm not sure if it was perfect...

I'd not recommend any hotel specifically cause if something goes wrong they might blame you.....

Good luck

Really try to avoid posts like this...........BUT.....just my opinion here...........Delaney.........you REALLY should let this family book their own room.....

I never would have volunteered to help these friends out --

of course -- my husband volunteered me!!!!

Doesn't that just figure.

They are really nice people (but absolutly NO 5 second rule in their house! :) ) but they are very, very clean.

Is the PopCenture open yet? My choice is that or AKL.

Those poor children. I bet there is no "5 second" rule in that family for dropped binkys. Geez, at our house it's "30" seconds and applies to any food except ice bars, popsicles and suckers. (Binkies are excluded, however, I gotta wash those---it drives me nuts.)

Yer right...those poor kids will never know the joy of a lost and recovered Oreo!

I'm sorry - but I just cannot resist! Forgive me for my sense of humor!

Beach Club Villas?
Fresher than AKL-may still have availability for non-DVC...depends on when they plan to go...

Well, if they ever go to Italy I have a hotel for them, but other then that. (We stayed in a hotel in Rome where the floors, wall, everything just glistened it was so clean!)

Gabrielle -- LOL!
Trekker -- CUTE!
Delaney -- I agree that you are really being set up for this one. And I would agree with your AKL theory. Plus everyone raves about AKL, esp the service. I would say that may be your best bet.
I can tell you from personal experience where NOT to book 'em -- Magnolia Terrace POR. If they had the room we had, they would have run SCREAMING for mercy out of there! :jester: Or brought their own cleaning supplies and scrubbed the place down in a day. ;)
GOOD LUCK!!!

Why not just forward all info their way and let them decide where to stay. Then they won't have anyone to blame. :)

The absolute cleanest room I have stayed in was AKL, but that was shortly after it opened. The cleanest room I have seen (not stayed in) was my sister's room at AS Movies last December. I always check the bathroom for mold and mildew, and there was absolutely none there. Two completely different Resorts, but those are the two that, in my experience, were the "cleanest".

Gabrielle, LOL!

:D

Sorry, but your run of the mill obsessive complusive clean 'person' will only be happy with their own handiwork.

Suggest that they use the limo service with a stop at the store. Buy some cleaning stuff, and then go to the hotel. I'd also suggest a DVC one bedroom since they have vaccuums, mops, dishwasher and washer dryer. Just perfect to set up housekeeping.

Not MY idea of a VACATION, but hey, thats me! ;)

Do any of the Deluxes triple sheet? I was at AKL in July and there was mildew on our shower curtain. They may not be to happy about something like that if they are neat freaks.

Okay....one last post before I say goodnite....

Are your friends planning on going to any parks???...

That in itself could lead to yet another post.........

Have they asked for advice on the "cleanest park"????

If so....I think hubby should take care of that one............

Well, one thing is for certain... they don't want to stay anywhere on 192! ;)!

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott at Lake Buena Vista... not a Disney owned or operated resort, but across from DTD. It was SPOTLESS! Now the rooms weren't new, but it always smelled clean and fresh. Not even a fingerprint on the sliding glass doors (have them place a chair in front, or close the sheers...those doors were so clean my DD thought they were open, and ran full tilt, nose 1st into them---thankfully, she didn't break her nose, though!)

As for onsite... We had a scrupulously clean room at the Contemporary... no mold, no finger prints, always clean, always fresh!

You may want to avoid rooms that open to the outside... humidity can tend to build up in the rooms when they are unoccupied, and in Florida, humidity and mold is a way of life!

Another thing... if they expect the rooms to be cleaned by a certain time, it may not happen. Many times mousekeeping doesn't get to the occupied rooms until later afternoon, because they have to do the checkouts 1st. If they want the room done early, because they are coming back for naps, they will need to make a special request, and mousekeeping will may a concerted effort to accomodate that request... however, it may not always be possible. Also, tell them that if they want new towels everyday, to place the used ones in the tub after use... otherwise, to conserve water ( a precious commodity in Florida) they don't change the towels but every other day. Not sure about the sheets (I know I certainly don't change mine at home everyday), but if the want that done, they should also request it... No sense in leaving anything to chance!

Good luck to you... and I think your hubbie owes you....BIG TIME!!

Don't put them in Beach Club. Our stay was horrible 2 weeks ago. Pool and grounds were nice, but the rooms are WORN and dirty. we had issues with an unclean room, and another room that suffered from mold/mildew. Fixtures are also very tired. Our stay at Old Key West 2 years ago was great. That room was just as clean as ours at home.

BTW, we are "clean" freaks, and when you're paying the rates that Disney charges (esp. for a deluxe room) I expect it to be cleaner than a run of the mill discount hotel. And our stay at beach Club was not the case.

IMHO these people might have issues with any room they are in. I would let them make their own reservations because that way they can't blame you. It's absolutely impossible for you to guanantee them (or anyone) the perfect clean room so I would just get myself out of this one!!

Good Luck!!!

We request triple sheeting at the resort when we check in. I am not a clean freak but I like triple sheeting. I think that if they are OCD they will bring cleaning supplies. I would politely inform them that you have nothing to do with the cleanliness of any resort and with the cut back anything is possible. Good Luck gotta love your husband. Mine would do the same thing.
