DH has agreed to go to Disney in April for our DS's bday as long as I can find a reasonably priced (under $1,400 for a week) one bedroom suite close to the parks. (We need a suite b/c DS takes midday naps, but the onsite suite prices are nuts b/c it's close to Easter.) I'm looking at Holiday Inn Resort LBV, Double Tree Suites in LBV, Caribe Royale, and a few others. I'm almost overwhelmed by the options because I want everything to be perfect and I'm nervous I'm going to pick the "wrong" place. Can anyone help me by chiming in with their opinions about the places above or others that you can recommend? Cleanliness of the room and closeness to parks are his two biggest requests. Thanks!!

Bonnet Creek is about as close as you can get to Disney property without being on it and they start at 1 bedroom units and up. There are lots of ways to get them, I booked a 1 bedroom via auction for $300 for a week and now have a 2 bedroom booked buy it now for $600 for the week. Look through this forum to see options to book. Great amenities here with all the pools, hot tubs, lazy river etc. And they have balcony, w/d and full kitchens.

Doubletree Guest Suites in DTD - just had a renovation of the rooms, looks nice. We have stayed there a few times and happy with it. Check Mousesavers for specials through them, often including free continental breakfast which is very good. Check for parking fees.

StayBridge Suites just outside DTD - just completely renovated, looks great. Has 1 and 2 bedroom. Stayed there and was a great week. Includes full breakfast.

Caribe Royale is not too far and you can get in to park avoiding DTD. Stayed in a one bedroom, liked it but found without breakfast we were on our own food wise there. Buena Vista Suites is next door and their sister resort. Suite was almost identical in size but it included a breakfast for less. BUT it hasn't much in amenity, like if you want a nice pool then Caribe is better.

Embassy Suites - two close by we prefer the LBV South as it's new. Great full cooked to order breakfast, nice pool, rooms are very well appointed and it's an easy 10 minute shot into the parks.

Thanks for such an amazing response!!! Having such great information makes my anxiety level go down tons. :) I had no idea Bonnet Creek was so close, and their 1 bedroom presidential suites look awesome. I think we're going to go that route. Thanks again!!!

I would recommend Orbit One Vacation Villas, or Silver Lake (Silver Points), both are nice, clean, and very close to the parks. Orbit you can book directly through their site or something like expedia, It should cost less than $1000 for a week in a 2 bedroom.

Just stayed in a one bedroom at the Staybridge Suites. Clean. Great Personnel. Free HOT breakfast. . 2 minutes if no traffic to DTD. I would highly recommend

Thanks for the recs, Denneg & Vellamint! Those places sounds great!

Take a look at Sheraton Vistana Resort. You could easily rent from an owner for way less than your budget (there is a 1 bedroom for rent for your time period on TUG for $699 for the week.....no resort fees, free wifi, no parking costs). In fact, renting from an owner you could get a TWO bedroom for less than $1400 for the week.

SVR is a gorgeous resort. 5 minutes to DTD. Great location, fantastic amenities (7 pool, 6 hot tubs, multiple playgrounds, sand volleyball, basketball courts, tennis, daily scheduled activities, pool parties, Gatorland onsite visits, etc.). A great place for a family!!

Orbit one or silver lake. Skyauction often has them for $300 for the week. This would be two bedrooms too.

Burnedout nailed it. Best deals in Orlando. Silver Lake especially. 5 or 10 mins from AK. Smaller resort but nice big units. Clean and decent staff.

I'd say its 5 minutes from door to door, and Orbit is maybe 10 depending on the one light you hit. Both are great choices!

How do you get them for $300/week? Do you have to wait until last minute to book? As I've been checking skyauction for my dates in Jan/Feb, I've yet to find a condo anywhere for under $550/week + tax.

Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South is very nice, and while it's not the closest to the parks, it's location typically makes for a quick, uncongested drive.

Sheraton Lake Buena Vista also offers suites and is located just across from the Downtown Disney entrance and right down the street from Crossroads. It gets kind of mixed reviews, but we are VERY picky when it comes to hotels, especially with cleanliness, and have never had a problem.
