If scratchy crappy towels are on your list then you pretty much need to bring your own unless staying at 4 star and above. I've stayed at Fairfield Inn's before and their towels are CRAP. Not the one in CA...but other states.

Hotel Indigo on Katella has hardwood floors. Redone a few years ago from a Holiday Inn to a boutique hotel- owned by the same company. Small, clean and friendly.

We stay at Hotel Indigo when not staying at a DLR hotel. We love it there! It is very clean and modern. I love the wood floors. The beds are extremely comfortable and made up European style. It is extremely clean. IMO the only downside is that it's too far to walk for us. Instead we park in the Mickey structure usually -- we're passholders so it's free.
