With all of the recent posts stating the deteriorating status of DVC resorts, please someone, send a little love this way. I need to hear that someone has had a great trip with a clean room and Mickey Mouse himself tucking you in at night. If I don't feel the love soon, I am afraid that I am going to start praying to the Universal Gods and send all 300 of my recently purchased (and, as of yet, unused) DVC points to the TimeShare Store abyss.

Please, oh please, show me the pixie dust.......

p.s. Hey I like it as much as the next gal, but, I would NEVER pray to a Universal God......

extremists always enjoy spreading their crap. I think they're reincarnated early american farmers who wish to spread their 'precious' manure upon the open fields.

the FACT is that thousands of DVC owners have stayed and enjoyed their stays without incident or event. Go....Enjoy...have an open mind...."life" isn't perfect...but your stay will likely be as close to perfect as one can "reasonably" expect!! :)

aahhh....a little love.... :thumbsup2...just what I needed :goodvibes

My pants feel a little lighter in the pixie dust department...

On our last trip we stayed at SSR, OKW and VB. Loved them all. Can't wait to return to SSR and VB!!!!

At SSR, Mickey did not tuck us in but did Donald sent our son balloons. There were lots of "Welcome Homes", friendly CMs, and magical memories. I came home wanting to buy more points!

We    the DVC.

When someone has trouble they tell everyone they know. When someone has a nice time, no one hears about it.

DVC is the same way. It's not perfect, but we've never really had any problems that just ruined our trip. A few maintenance problems, but we call maintenance, they show up, they fix it and they leave. No problem.

I don't know about others, but when we check into our villa we do not look for dirt! We may look out the window to be sure we didn't get a crappy view, but we don't look for dirt! :rotfl2:

If you look for things wrong, you will find them. :thumbsup2

Well, during our most recent trip we started out in a studio at the Boardwalk. We had a great time, no room issues. The only issue I had was that it was our first time in a studio after staying in OKW 1 and 2 bedrooms - well, everyone is right, once you do a 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom, it is very difficult to downsize.

We finished our trip in a 2 bedroom at OKW and it was wonderfull. Mickey sent balloons and a card for my 40th b-day. We only had one issue with the balcony door lock and maitenance was there within 10 minutes to fix it.

At both resorts check in was quick and easy, the rooms were clean and in good order and all of the staff we ran into at the resorts from valet parking, bell services, maintenance, mousekeeping and the front desk were very friendly and they went out of their way to be helpful.

I am sure you will have a wonderfull time.

Well sometimes it just kinda hard to over look. When you find blood and hair in the refrigerator when you check in, are you saying you would not notice. :confused3

we just had a great stay at OKW... first trip and already booked the next one.

enjoy!

Well, it was all the way back in January, but we had villas at VWL and at SSR that were no more or less clean than anywhere else I've ever stayed. I didn't have any complaints at all. Right before I left there was a post about the WL staff being really rude to DVC members so I was kind of on the lookout for especially rude people but I didn't come across anyone with an attitude.

Back when my son was a baby we didn't go to Disney for about three years, between the pregnancy, newborn time, lack of $$ - when we finally were planning our first trip back to Disneyland I was lurking/posting on another site. I got so upset because it seemed like *everyone* there thought that Disneyland was going to you know where in a handbasket, posts just flew from locals about the state of decline that the parks were in, how DCA sucked, etc. I really worried that we were spending mucho $$ on a trip that would really stink. It didn't, and we've went back there a number of times and now WDW/DVC - I think there will always be posts that are negative no matter what. And I don't think that the negative posts are unwarranted either, I really believe a lot of the bad stuff happened and that is inexcusable. I think that most people are going to have their expectations met though, and I'm sure you will have a great trip. pixiedust:

Just got home from my first stay at the VWL... and in a 1 bedroom... It was WONDERFUL!! Previously, I have stayed only in studios, as i was usually alone.. but this time I took my almost 3 year old nephew and my 25 year old neice. My nephew called the VWL "aunt Kathleen's Disney House" It was sooo cute.

Well... check in was great.. our room was ready immediately... our room was clean, stocked, near the elevators on the 3rd floor... I never heard another sound from other rooms.... The location was great.. pools were great.. both of them...Boat service was frequent.. never a wait.. bus service was also great... I never used my car! that is a first for me!! I did utilize the Valet.. (I am finally learning) when I went grocery shopping.. and then bell services to help me up to the room with my purchases.. I really as learning... Let me tell you... a tip is worth the lack of headache!!! My only slight complaint with the Wildnerness lodge in general.. is still the lack of a late night food court.... but.. hey.. if that is the only problem I had.. hey.. that's great!

Previous visits were to the BCV and SSR... and I had similar experiences there. I only purchased my points last year.. and I have now made 3 trips using them... and have been THRILLED with each and every visit... Not one complaint here... even considering an add on!! UH OH!! LOL!!

Go and have a great time.. don't worry about what you read!! You made a wise investment.. one you will be enjoying for years to come!

Kathy

Just got back from VWL! :thumbsup2

It's about the only aspect of the trip that I didn't encounter any problems!

No problems here!

Can't wait to get back in October! and in December! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, now that the long, cold night is over, my senses have cleared. I can now that there is pixie dust everywhere, you just have to be willing to look for it, a little. :teeth:

I am eagerly awaiting our Feb. trip to BCV and our June trip to SSR and VB. Thanks for mood lifter.

Have a magical day!!!

:thumbsup2

I just got back from 11 days at the VWL and they had to drag me kicking and screaming from the joint. The resort is wonderful. I posted a live report about a week ago, (search using my name, I can't get my laptop to include a link) describing the resort in micro details.

With so many different folks using DVC accomodations, things are bound to get messed up. I like to treat DVC as if I own it. And I do have a real small share of it.

We have stayed at VWL several times, OKW and BCV once and I have to say we have never encountered dirty rooms. Maint. issues seem to be the thing we see more of and most times they are so minor I try to fix them myself.

Dont let the naysayers hinder you from owning DVC. I was reluctant to purchase just because it was a timeshare but I am so glad we did. It has been a wonderful addition to our family life and one we hope to continue to enjoy in the coming years.

The reports are simply statements of things other DVC members have experienced, not guarantees that you will experience the same. Is it possible to get a dirty room or run into less than magical CMs? Absolutely! I think being aware that these things can and do happen to some members, makes it easier to deal with if it happens to you.

We've been many times and have found clean rooms, dirty rooms, broken rooms ( maintenance issues ), happy and pleasant CMs, and CMs who say "I don't know and walk away". But 6 years after joining DVC we are still happy members who look forward to our next trip.

Believe me, most trips there are no issues. And if there are issues, they are usually resolved quickly. So relax! Everything will be fine (probably) and you will have a great trip! Then return here and tell us all about it!!!

I almost find it odd that our stays at BCV are always nearly perfect from some of the reports I read on here. We would never change a thing. Our last 2BR 4 weeks ago was beautiful. I even took multiple pictures of every room the second we walked in the door and would be glad to post them-it looks brand new. VWl and BWV are always great as well but seem to get less heat.

Just got back from the BWV- no dirt- it was clean and beautiful- we loved the new pull out sofas!!! WOW- how easy and comfortable (we were in a 2 bedroom- 7 people)- The villas was spotless - but the previous guests left some papers in the safe that I immediately brought down to the front desk- I guess mousekeeping does not check the safe? The resort is wonderful- the cast members were wonderful- no complaints here.

I have only been a DVC member gfor a short time but had 3 stays at BWV and haven't encountered any "dirty" problems. The cm's were more than helpful to us. On our last trip we were having problems with the dining plan and they made so many efforts to fix it for us. It was the first weekend that Dining plan was avail for DVC members. Mousekeeping always had a smile in the hallways.

My theory is a smile goes a long way. If you look happy and approachable you will not have problems with the CM's. If you go to them with attitude you will get attitude. Most problems are fixable, noone is perfect even Disney.

Have a great trip!!!
