I was watching our local tv station this morning and they announced that Clay Aiken will be on the cover of TIME Magazine in a week or two. He has such great success!!!
I have not heard that here yet. The local Raleigh newscaster said that Clay has bought a home in Los Angeles. Also I read that he is to complete his degree from UNC- Charlotte, though I don't know how, unless it can be done somehow long distance.
I can't imagine Clay limiting himself to Broadway so soon. Sounds like it was a joke. I know he said he may be interested in Broadway in the future, but with the #1 single on the A.C. charts for the last - what? - 6 or 7 weeks...I think maybe they should wait until his album comes out before sending him to Broadway.
Simon Cowell can't backpedal fast enough these days.
LIMITING HIMSELF to Broadway?!!!! Why in the world would performing on Broadway be limiting for a man of Clay's talent? That's a dream for many singers that is never attained. Even those with successful music or movie careers jump at the chance to perform on Broadway. For instance, Hugh Jackman, whose movie career is certainly not suffering right now, has committed to a yearlong run as Peter Allen in the new musical "The Boy from Oz."
I've pre-ordered Clay's CD, but would certainly love to see him use his talents and "big voice" on the stage as well.
Go Clay!!!! Now not only am I anxiously awaiting the release of his CD (in just 13 days), but now for Time Magazine also. You're right, he is becoming a huge success (dare I say bigger than Kelly Clarkson?), and Simon is really eating his words.
As a side note, Clay will be on Nickeloden Saturday night. I can't wait!
