hi all.

i'm hoping this is the right forum for this question...

on my first trip to wdw (in 1977, i think), i had a "classic" pooh print dress...it was a very busy-looking cotton fabric (and quite honestly, kinda ugly), with the characters outlined in black and the background was white. the color of the characters and other things in the print had bright colors--no muted colors or pastels.

now that i'm taking my toddlers to wdw in nov., i'm looking for the same fabric or dress(es) so that i can get a picture of my girls with pooh in the "same" dress that i had (it'd be a cute photo op., and my parents would love it!).

anyone have ANY idea what i'm talking about? any ideas where i might find something like this? (i just started searching on ebay and found a shirt in the right fabric, so now i'm convinced that the actual fabric/dress is out there, too!!)

thanks for your time!

I was recently doing a search for a specific fabric and found a websiute where you can put a request for a specific fabric on something like a bulletin board that is viewed by fabric stores and others who may have it available. Here's the website that is the starting point for entering the request:

FYI - I have never used this service nor know anyone who has but it seemed to be the kind of place that might be able to fulfill your request. Good luck!

I would continue to search eBay. I sell vintage clothing on eBay and come across Pooh stuff once in awhile at thrifts and estate sales. Sears sold a line of Pooh clothing in the 70's called the 'Winnie The Pooh Collection' and had several pieces in every catalog. I collect vintage catalogs and my 1976 Sears one has a white Pooh dress with orange, yellow and blue Pooh and Tigger print and a blue and white polkadot tie at the front. Is that the dress you're referring to?

OMG! I have a picture of ME in that dress when I was 3 or 4!
Good luck finding it!!!! Hope you're successful!!!!

...for the thoughts. the fabric website sounds great--i'll check it out!

chesirekate, as for the actual dress, i can't remember exactly what it looks like, i only remember the fabric (and even that wasn't explained very well, was it?!?!). the characters in the print were a cross between the current "classic" pooh and the disney animated characters.... not looking like they are in the book, but also not like the current disney characters, either. it had pooh and christopher robin in the hundred acre wood (probably others, too). you're right, i think the dress came from sears, as the shirt currently up for bid on ebay with the same fabric is from sears. if i get the shirt, perhaps i'll post a picture of it here and see if anyone can help once there is a picture.

kdlmom2000--too funny! i don't suppose you still have the dress packed away somewhere????

thank you all for your help!!! it's such a trivial thing, but as i'm sure you all know, a big part of the fun of wdw is the planning....

No, sorry I don't have it packed away!!!! Was this it????

THAT'S IT!!

(i thought mine was short sleeved, but i'm not sure).

thank you so much for posting the picture!!!

anyone else have anything like this??

cute picture, by the way...

thanks,

I had this dress when I was little too....and I still have it. It's packed away with ALL of my clothes. (My mother saved EVERYTHING and then gave EVERYTHING back to me when I had my girls.) My dress was a size 6x if I remeber correctly. Gee, I never thought of putting these clothes on ebay....as vintage nonetheless. Something to think about.

asktriplets - what size are your girls?? (nevermind, I just reread your post and see that your girls are toddlers.)

OMG - I had a dress like that! I even had a school pic taken in it. I have no idea where it is now. How funny!
