I was at the library the other day and got several books to read to my 2 and 5 yr olds. Their favorite two, and the two I have read several dozen times, are two of myfaves from when I was little and myDad would read to me.

Do any of you remember "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" (this one was also a cartoon) and "The Princess Who Never Laughed" ("starring" Goofy)?

I would love to find copies of these to keep but have no idea where to look as they are both such old books.

Ok maybe you will know this..

Have you ever heard of Red Rose? Snow White and Red Rose? I have no idea if it is disney but I remember it from my childhood and DH looked at me like I was nuts!

I've heard of Snow White and Red Rose...I believe (but am not totally sure) that it was a Hans Christian Anderson story...or the Brothers Grimm. I don't think Disney has done anything with it... yet.

OOOHHH..ok well, thank goodness I am not a nut case.

I had Snow White and Rose Red in a book collection from Reader's Digest when I was a kid. Although I can't remember it now, I know I loved it.

I have Lambert the Sheepish Lion. I believe it is a Disney's Wonderful World of Reading book by Random House. I picked it up at a garage sale. It is about the size of a Grolier book. They were available through a Disney book club. It's really not something the library would carry.

As for Onecoolmama's question, it's Snow White and Rose Red. These stories were written by the Brothers Grimm and can be found in any good Brothers Grimm compilation book.

Hope that helps!

I belonged to a Disney book club as a kid and have quite a few of them to share with my daughters.

We read "The Princess Who Never Laughed" recently, as a matter of fact.

Good luck with your search!

Lambert is also a Disney animated short with narration by Sterling Holloway. It's on a DVD, but I'm sorry I'm not sure which one.:earsboy:
