I was wondering if anybody who has stayed at a WDW resort quite recently can tell me if there is a channel that plays classic Disney cartoons all the time? When we stayed at BW last December there was such a channel, but when we stayed a WL in April we couldn't find such a channel again!

It is channel 96, and it is on their "network of channels" there, but more and more TVs seem to be programmed so that they cannot access channel 96. Our last three trips the TVs would not tune to channel 96, yet I see it on the kids TV in the lobby of hotels, so it is still there.

Not sure why they would phase that out. Just like the DVD-Read-Along bedtime stories they used to do on channel 14. Why get rid of that?

Thanks for all the replies!

So odd, I don't understand why they would be getting rid of that! Too bad, my DD loves watching the cartoons when we're getting ready in the morning or when we get back to the room at night. Guess we'll have to bring a few DVDs with us.

The channel was nowhere to be found on our TV in WL in May either.

We stayed at All Star Movies on 11/15 & had the channel. My 4 year old daughter LOVED it!

the classics are more for the parents yes,? The old cartoons is what we grew up with. :thumbsup2

When we were there last year we spent a night at the Poly and then three nights at the Contemporary and they had channel 96 but then when we went over to the WL for 4 nights they didn't have it. Stayed at POP and POR this year and we didn't have it. I love that channel.

We stayed at FW in our own RV the last week of Oct and my girls LOVE this channel!! It is channel 96 as someone posted above. Lots of classic Disney cartoons and shorts. I had to download a lot of them after our last trip because they wanted to see them again! :thumbsup2

You're at Walt Disney World and you're watch tv???

Well, there is only so much DVC, stacy or other disney loops you can stand. Yes, the cartoons are on a loop also. And the real channels they have sometimes you dont feel like watching, so the stand by was always the old cartoons.

And also, yes, sometimes people will goto disney just to relax at a resort some and not be go go go all the time. I can already tell the more often you go, the less you tend to rush around and hurry to get to the parks and spend all day there.

At CSR I was able to just enter in 96 for the cartoons and 60 for CCTV, that's an english chinese station, there are just sometimes that it's entertaining to watch :) When we transfered to SSR after purchasing DVC, even if you enter the numbers they would pop up 'channel not available' :(

We were at ASMo a couple of weeks ago and it we had it in our room. It was also on the TV in the lobby and the foodcourt. They showed about 10 different cartoons over and over. And they hadn't changed the cartoon since the last time we were at WDW in May '08. DS didn't care - he wanted to watch it anyway.

We don't go, go, go all the time either. We watch way too much tv at home so we try not turn it on at Disney World, that's all.

the cartoon loop is mainly on disney world cable for things like the children's tv sitting areas in the resort lobbies. It is "on" al lthe tv's, but some resorts have the tv's set so that you can't add channels. It is only about an hour or so loop, including one sing along songs.

Some of us like to turn it on at the end of a long day. Sometimes I read, but i like watching the old cartoons instead other times. So its nice to have something to watch thats fun late at night for from 12 - 2 or so.

Thats what this thread is about though, the cartoon channel. Not your TV watching habbits. I get very little time to watch tv at home. Staying up late to do so isn't an option when not on vacation. I watch a game a week of my favorite hockey team, maybe another hour or so throughout the week and thats it. As you can see everyone's habits are different.

Anyways, I think that channel had more than a 1 hour loop, but its not hugely long for sure. I can recall more than a couple cartoons that might add up to over an hour as being on it, even if it is short I still really like it :). Its one of the things I look forward to. Im like your son Bobo, i dont care, I'll watch them over and over again, particularly the old Goofy instructional ones.
